Been going on for a while now. A little competition means its time to play keep away.

I guess we should all just move our business to the guy that is doing it better eh? If RCU was the really #1 site in the world for this stuff...maybe they would look at it differently and take the lead....and do the ethical thing. I guess I'm just too much a capitalistic person. I think that you do it better than the other guy so your advertisers and customers come to you. You don't ignore the competition, and hope they will just go away. I wonder if we should get the F-G to buy a banner ad here on RCU then would they link to it or not?

Pretty poor form in my opinion.

I say we send everybody over to F G and leave RCU in the dust. We vote with our feet and then its about competition and what we feel is fair.

Hi All,

I've just got back from the South African National Aerobatics Champs and had the opportunity to talk at length to Marcelo Colombo of CA Model about the new Osmose. To answer some of your questions, according to him, it is quite a big aircraft, but is a progressive design. It is made with a two piece wing and a removable canopy as well as front under belly. (as per the Genesis design). CPLR's aircraft is powered by YS, but they are also making an electric version. The Osmose will be available in kit, ARC, ARF and Deluxe ARF versions.
Congrats to Marcelo for winning the S.A. Nats! I hope he recovers from his jet lag soon!

Lots of questions about this....

Is this an all composite aircraft or traditional foam and balsa with composite fuse?

I am in the market for an airplane and was considering the Integral...any idea when CA will make this avalable and what would be the price range?

The comment above was that this is a big airplane...what is the wieght of the DZ powered prototype, is it bigger than the Twister?

The Osmose is made as per typical CA trends... Composite fus with foam/balsa wings, and I would guess, the option of a carbon wing tube (as per the CA Genesis)... although he did mention that the wings could be sprayed, instead of the normal Oracover finish
Marcelo was not sure of a launch date, but intimated that it could be as soon as a month or two. Also no pricing was given, however he added that it would cost more than the CA Genesis.
Unfortunately, down here in South Africa, we have not had an opportunity to see a twister yet, so a comparison can't really be made... and in any event, I'm only going by the picture in the brochure and Marcelo's comments.
The weight range as printed on the brochure is 4,5kg - 5kg

Are you sure it isn't a twister?

Sure It's not a Twister. Wings are very different with the Twister.
Twister was designed by Pascal Nowik of Znline.
Oxalys was designed by CPLR and sold by ZN.
But now CPLR changed of manufacturer. He went to Camodel so he did a new plane to be sold by Camodel.

Would love to have the Explorer with YS 170. Have been watching this plane on some of the Japanese sites.

by all accounts the wing on the twister is very similar (if not actually identical) to that on the oxalys, so I would think that the plane is more similar than you think when you get down to it...

still, it looks very good and certainly the big fuz is in at the moment! (twister, integral and now osmose to name but three...)

BTW does anyone know the reason that CPLR has moved to CA from ZN? No reason why he shouldn't of course, but it does seem strange to have gone from his local company to one half way around the world.
