Thanks , my plane is still in kit form ( will be using one elevator servo ) . So there does not appear to be major tail/nose heavy issues - will help with the build . Brgrds

It was one of the first production kits, around August or September. I got it straight from CAMODEL. First flights were conducted last week. I had to remove the canalizer to tame the plane down. I guess the canopy frame flexed a little bit. I only fly advanced but power seems OK with the 140 RX. I am getting ready a new OS160FX with perry pump and Webra pipe just in case.

I used the 821 muffler with 822 header, even being the lower one, it gets perfect with the Nishioka one twouc muffler base, as it sits higher than the engine.
I don't know the 725 header, but 822 and 823 are built for the 821 muffler, if you can provide more info , I could suggest something perhaps.

Hi apereira,
Thanks for the info. The reason that I want to use the #725 muffler is to avoid the opening toward the fuselage. Central Hobbies advertise that the #725t suits the YS 170, so what would be the difference Power? Noise?

I see, power will not be the issue, as the four strokes are not affected by the supercharging effects of pipes as the bouncing shock wave will find the exaust valve closed, so maybe noise could be the main difference, but the longer pipe, I think, it will make the engine run cooler, as all the hot gasses has more are to dissipate heat on the longer muffler.
I personally feel the engine at full power discharges a lot gases/pressure, on my install I see the pipe moving back on the header around 1/4", but I also understand the fact you dont want to open the fuselage.
I hope you don't mind me asking, but I see you have two aligned bolts to support the landing gears, am I correct?
Regards

Hi, Thanks for the info. I also verified with Central Hobbies and they recommend the longer muffler. As for the landing gear bolts I use only two for each landing gear, as the rear bolt is almost not functional in landing, but my whole landing gear reinforcement is different. It is the way Issac done in his electric version. We believe this reinforcement is stronger.

Remember the gear is swept back, and with only two bolts, the gear will most likely crack in the middle due to uneven forces applied to not supported edges, and if for some reason you happen to have a rough landing or run into tall grass,it will for surecause damage, try to flex the gear by hand to verify, just keep it in mind.
