FLY RC Magazine 2007 Concours d'Elegance
#76
This Is from Raiko Potter,
Hi all, I want to thank my fellow pattern family in awarding me the Concourse de Elegance award. As all have seen by my work, I am a little out there and really love extreme stuff. Instead of giving information on what I did, I will tell you how I got there. I have always liked being different and have learned a lot especially from my mentor Bryan Hebert. A question was asked at the Nationals by a fellow modeler about "Why I did it that way?", and I replied "Because I can do it". I would also say that I am a kit basher and with 18 years of composite experience, there is no limit to what I want to create. People say, "You have to much time", I say "Its already done now I have to materialize it". I really don't have a lot of time being that I have a full time career, single fatherhood, after school activities, household chores, and only weekends to fly. This causes me to "Cram Build" which means that it takes me more time to create than to build so when I start on the construction of the project, I cram my creations into my short time spand and "BLAM"!, it materializes. I also get 'Creatives Block" and have to step away but then something or somewhere will set my thoughts off and BLAM!, again. In the future I plan on bringing back a lot of the "Old School" techniques with a "Futuristic" look which will be displayed on the newly being created website, "Extreme R/C Qustoms", which will be ran by my close friends, Abe and Carl Harper of Harper Technologies. In closing, I really have to give all of my thanks to my supporters and individuals who have always believed in my creations and it is them that drive me to build, show ,and fly this type of freestyle building. May the good Lord be with you all and see ya on the circuit. Raiko "R/C Kid" Potter
Supporters: Team Futaba, Team Morgan Fuel, Team Vel-Tye, Team Marianna Airmotive, Team YS Power.
Individuals: Rusty Dose, Albert and AC Glenn, John Purvis, Rex Bishop, Abe Harper, Bryan Hebert, Mike Hester, Bryan Kennedy.
Thank you,
Raiko Potter
