What cable brand or set=up do you use. I have been using I believe is the "Sullivan" brand which has some kind of sheating over the cable' it has not frayed in many years of use. I was wondering if the "Tettra" pull-pull system is any better.
Although with the longevity I have had with the one I have used it may be a mute point.
I do however set uop my pull pul the same way you do.

Orlando-
Lately I've been using Surflon 60 test 1x7 fishing leader. I think I got it from Wal Mart. It's also plastic coated.
If you don't want the coating you might consider u-control line.
