Has anyone have experience with the Fashion 50 ?.I see this plane offered on Ebay by Toyfina. The pictures look great and very inexpensive for a 45 size pattern plane similar to the 45 Venus. Just wondering about it's quality as well as it's flight charateristics..

I had one. It's now compost!
The model was very nice to fly. Overall quality was fine on my one but... you will need to strengthen the UC area as this is very weak. The tank position is too high and will cause problems unless you use an engine with a pump. I had to add weight to the tail to get the CG right. I think around 20 grams was needed.
Cheers
Jason.

I have 2 of them. If you get the plane, please throw away the "hardware" as they are worthless. Reinforce the firewall and the UC and possibly change the gear itself as it tends to stay bent if you land a little less than perfect. Flight quality is very good. I also have to agree with moving the tank down.

I have just finished building one that I recently purchased off e-bay for cheap. The plane builds well and comes with a one piece wing already joined and glassed in the middle. It also has a nice glassed belly pan. I've put in an O.S 46 AX (mounted as recommended and it fits perfect) I'm still waiting for an AR7000 Rx to put in it before the maiden. Can any-body who has flown it tell me where the C of G is. Is it as recommended or did it need to be changed? Thanks

Thanks Jason,
I set mine up as per the instructions and test flew it on the weekend. I'm REALLY impressed
. It needed a bit of up trim to keep straight hands off, and when inverted it needs a fair bit of down stick to keep level, indicating it's a bit nosey. I put a few washers in the front to balance so I may take them out . Knife edges are great with no mixing. I've also replaced the L.G as the supplied ones were really soft. Over all I'm really happy with this plane - it has no bad tendencies and flies great - shame about the pink covering though

Is this cg assumption after checking the 45 degree up with half roll to inverted at full power? (the model should just keep going on a 45 line without any need for down elevator) this is by far the best way to check your cg, after all it could be a thrust line issue, needing up trim and the subsequent excessive down elevator during inverted!
Just a thought...................
