Default Beryll GP Build

Oxai Beryll GP Build

I am pleased to welcome the newest member to the Dose Family F3A aerobatic family- an Oxai Models Beryll GP. The model will be powered by a YS 170 DZ and guided by the Futaba 14MZ with 2.4 module and has a target maiden flight date of 7/1/08.

The model is designed by Wolfgang and Roland Matt and is a collaboration with Oxai Models. Many readers may know about Oxai Models, the original Beryll powered by electrons, the updated Beryll with dimpled flying services, the Beryll with anhedral stab and of course the celebrated history of the Matt's of Lichtenstein.

The purpose of this thread is a combination of motivation (to complete my model), information about quality products I may or may not have an marketing related affiliation and of course the sincere and respectful exchange of concepts and ideas.

The first photos show the model just after retrieving the plywood container from Continental/US Air Cargo located on the south side of Chicago O'Hare, about $90 to ship from Phoenix. The model arrived in perfect condition and was photo ready in three minutes. Team Dose consists of Chip and Tom who many of you know as the 2007 USA F3A Team Promotional Department.

I expect to have the activity to begin by 5/31....

Looking forward to this one, Rusty. That airplane made quite an impression on me in Argentina.

Hi

Glad to see that you got the 2008 colour scheme. The finish and quality is worth the little extra in price. After two years of flying the Beryll EP version I ordered and awaiting the new Inspec from Oxai. Attached some photos care of Oxai.

Beryll GP Build

The color scheme...a pleasant surprise...

During the Beryll GP selection process, Sam Johnson of Oxai-USA, e-mailed me photos of the Beryll GP. The dark color looked to be black. The color is actually dark purple, accented with lavender set against the metallic red..."very cool Daddy" said my 3 year old, Tom.

If the truth were known...I actually wanted my new model to MATCH the trend setting "Team Tinkerbell" shirt. "Team Tinkerbell" is a band of precision aerobatic, merry men based in the National Society of Radio Controlled Aerobatics (NSRCA) District 7. "Team Tinkerbell" members, led by Rusty Fried, embrace the famous phrase by William Stone: "Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star."

The photo below shows Rusty Fried welcoming the inspiration behind "Team Tinkerbell", Chris Fritz, the editor of the monthly publication of the NSRCA, K-Factor. Welcome Chris to "Team Tinkerbell"!!

"Team Tinkerbell" shirts were designed and created by my wife Ali, who is a really nice version of Martha Stewart. Shirts are available for $17.50 plus $5.00 shipping and handling from: "Tinkerbell Productions", 2703 Freeland Circle, Naperville, IL 60564 USA
