Best glow driver?

RE: Best glow driver?
Right...I think I have seen your driver before now.
My driver has the delay built in and is activated by the button on the driver....not in the wire.
So....I push the button, start cranking and 7 seconds later the glow comes on automatically and lasts for one minuite.
If the engine quits before the driver turns off, I just push the button again and the 7 second delay starts over.

RE: Best glow driver?
Hi
This is definitely the ultimate glow driver for YS...
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...alance/Charger
As a "side effect" it can charge and balance my 10S5000 LiPo F3A packs when I fly electric and don't need to start my YS170
This very nice charger has an option called "motor drive" intended for running in brushed motors. You can set a current limit and when you push the button, the current increases
linearly until the limit is reached. This takes about 4-5 seconds. Perfect for an no-knocking start of the YS170 !!
I have set the current limit to 3.5A. This seems about right for the OS-F plug. As the charger works as a current control loop, the length of cables, wet or dry plugs does not alter the glow current.
The charger puts out the voltage needed to achieve the preset current.
I tested this for the first time on the field today, and it worked just perfect.... VERY smooth starts :-)
