There were two Vanquish prototypes at the Rocket City RC pattern contest this weekend. AC Glenn and Cameron Smith flew them. I didn't get any pictures, but they looked nice and appeared to fly F11 very well, and I was told they met weight easily. However I understand there will be some changes and that more prototypes are expected shortly. They had CF wingtubes and landing gear. I also understood that there will be two versions, one for fuel and an electric. Pricing should be very good. Availability near year end.

Well, we probably are just too impatient. Not everyone checks the forum every day
However, in this case, the problem is that Extreme Flight has announced 'available shortly' a couple of times now, starting maybe 1.5~2 year ago. Not directly, but for instance by having demo-pilots say that.
Also, the story that it is being test-flown and that there's a prototype and only minor changes need to be done, started about a year ago.
Don't get me wrong, offcourse it's a good thing if stuff is well tested before releasing it (the small Vanquish wasn't, or was not enough), but it's starting to be time they got this bird out on the market.
Offcourse especially since I might just buy it

I too am not really impressed with the small Vanquish. Lots of mixing problems and covering that blew the clear off 1st flight. Power system with kit is great though. Yeah I know ,what do you expect in a small pattern plane? Prodigy was smaller and still a better flyer.

I check emails over the weekend while at home, but I don't have any of the pictures here.
When we (Chris and I) get in the office on Monday, We'll send some out.
Hezik. I can appreciate your comments. These do truly take time. We had an early prototype and made several changes (for the better) Any time this is done, it takes time.. The factory just cannot stop on a dime and produce a new airframe.
Also, Chris has been working hard on the 123" Extra, the 78" Extra, and the 88" Edge 540 that are all coming out soon! So it really has been a busy year and we really do appreciate everyone's patience and understanding for our desire to release the best possible airframe we can.
Cheers

Just to be clear; I think EF makes high quality airframes. I have no doubt the Vanquish will be a fine F3A aircraft, which is why I'm so anxious to finally see it released. I don't intend to flame you in any way, it's just that after such a long wait, and I am waiting for this one, I'm getting impatient

She looks pretty ... very pretty with a nice phat body. Love the blue scheme. If this stays sub $700 it will be a great hit. Take on a market segment that Fliton missed out on.

If it's around the money suggested . . they will sell a pile of 'em ! !
Pattern needs some good 2M planes in the lower price bracket. There is no question the $2k and $3k airframes are stopping many from considering the sport, and a well designed sub $1k plane, built true, can be very competitive.
Colour schemes?? . . it's all about visability and fashion, and selecting schemes that will appeal to a broader market . . BUT I am sure Chris knows all about that

They look good! As far as the color schemes: thank god these are not the final schemes. I realize there's a lot of personal taste in this, so no one get offended by the following, just remember I have no taste
The yellow/red scheme is downright ugly. The white/blue/pink version is very nice, BUT blue is one of the worst colors one can use on an F3A ship, blue tends to get totally invisible in the sky.
However, colors can be changed and she does look like a nice bird. If they do manage to keep the price low (not competative), they will indeed sell a bundle of them.
The problem regarding pricing is that they don't say 'reasonable priced', but 'competative'. Most 2m F3A birds cost somewhere near 1500 euro's. If they release it at that price, they won't sell that many of them.

I like both schemes. I am excited that they are offering an electric version. I am also happy to hear the wing tube and gear are CF. Batteries are getting better and cheaper, so electrics are quickly beoming the affordable option. The quality I've have seen in EF planes are top notch.
I'll take the blue one in the EP version please. Sign me up!

Hi Ryan
It's a new version 2 meter Vanquish. It is a built up wooden airframe with fiberglass pieces.
There are carbon wing tube and carbon stab tube. Gear is also in carbon. There will be glow version and electric version.
I wrote to "[email protected]" to get informations. Answer was very quickly and completed.
I hope this plane will be sold in Europe.
