I lost my efocus sport last weekend, so nothing to fly until I get the Focus2 glow running again. I also have family in town. I most likely will go out Sunday anyway as the family is leaving then. I just may get the focus2 glow back running Saturday night and get 2 rounds in Sunday.
EfocusSport made a great barn fire.

I got a quite extensive answer and yes, there will be a new small Vanquish coming out as well. It'll have a profiled stab and they will have sorted out the obvious couplings the current Vanquish has.

I hope so too... it made SUCH A HUGE difference in my Integral X's performance... LOL... JUST KIDDING, sorry, I COULDN'T resist (just teasing you Colin).
Looking good Chris. I'm guessing I'll see one this weekend in Jax.

There have been a few "budget" pattern planes developed that went no-where because they did'nt fly well and the designer did'nt improve it. With the laser cut kits it should be easy to make minor changes as they go and could very well result in as good an airplane as any after a few iterations...and for like $600??? However, they need a clever test pilot (like Jason) to fine tune the design with usefull changes.
The pattern flying guys are very discriminating particularly with 2M airplanes and will not buy or fly crap....but if Extreme Flight can develop a plane that flies as good as...let's say an Integral (not the X as that's just too good) they'll have a winner.
We are all looking forward to a sub $1000 airplane that flies well, makes weight, is durable and is an ARF!!!

Hi all,
I currently own 2 Ultra RC evolutions. I have heard through the grapevine that the Vanquish is an improved EVO. The Evolutions
have served me and my son well but the planes had tons of quality issues and required multiple mods before they were ready for action.

Well, never say never. 'no way' was my first reaction, but looking at the photo's there are A LOT of similarities. Offcourse most F3A planes have similar looks, but for instance the nose section is practically identical, and so is the rudder, which has an unusual feature for F3A planes, being a cutout in the vertical stabilizer and having some stabilizer left at the top, for instance.

They are definitely not the same. I can see distinct differences in construction, canopy line, cowel/front end, and stab. Even the vertical fin on the Evolution looks taller. Then again, photos can be deceiving. I'm sure Extreme Flight will not allow for the poor quality that Ultra RC did for the Evolution and many of its other planes. I wish people would not make such statements unless they have definitive proof.

Ultra RC doesn't make them. They're still being made and sold.
Extremeflight has their plane manufactured in a different factory, so I have no doubt they will be constructed differently. I have no doubt EF will not have the quality issues that the Evolution has.
However, if you forget the construction for a second and just look at the shapes of the plane, they look nearly identical. I wouldn't be surprised if EF used the Evolution as a basis to start from.

I would say it has A LOT more similarities with the Evolution than the Elaxant, or Evolution, or any other plane I might add.
Anyways, you are right that F3A planes tend to look like each other on first sight
Besides, the Evolution doesnt fly bad, I have flown a friends one.
If they use typical EF construction and quality, combined with the available color scheme's, I know several people, including myself, who would consider buying one.

Uhhhh..........
Welp, I saw the 2 Vanquishes at Huntsville. Up close. I was supposed to fly it, but when I got out of the judges chair, they were put up. No joy.
The Evolution and the vanquish basically came from the same place/person. I'm talking about the design not the construction. The construction looks awesome BTW, although I have some reservations about the current way the front end is built. It's probably fine, and it's not the final version. Overall quality of these prototyopes are everything one would expect from Extreme Flight.
The vanquish IS an evolution of the Evolution per se. It went something like this:
Virtuoso (one prototype, is currently in my attic)
Rock N Roll (what the production version of the Virtuoso became)
Evolution (A more pattern refined version of the design)
Vanquish (the next step in the design series so to speak).
The designs all came from pretty much the same place, and they don't suck. Chris has had a lot of input from a few F3A pilots. So far he's done a bang up job.
My prediction: it'll become the next Focus....rather, it will fill that area of the market so to speak. And since Chris seems to have a lot of pull with the 3D community, don't be suprised to see a few more of those guys trying pattern because of this plane. That could be a good thing or a bad one, sorta depends LOL
If someone wants to jump in and fly pattern in that price range, this would be the plane I'd recommend. It's the best I've seen so far.

The market could sure use a product like this to fill the void of the Focus and short lived Elements. The Aquila is still a good contributor to the sagging sector of patten ARFs,....options and more options are a good thing!
IMOP,..the nose looks more similar to PL Partners front end.

The elements are fine, but heavy. Evolution is fine but needs care when building. There's also a biplane element now, and again it's way to heavy.
It would be very nice if EF managed to put this on the market at the mentioned price and with a good weight, like 4.8 kg AUW, electric. It would be a hit, I think.
Most mentioned airframes are still on the market tho, lindinger.at still sells the evolution and the rock'n'roll.

Hezik knows already, but I've flown the Evolution this year in competition (Hezik couldn't beat me with his Sebart Wind S110
), and it's a great plane, no modifications at all needed. A friend of Hezik bought one also and he did have some troubles (wingtube broke out of the wing) so maybe I've got a good one
Anyway; it does look a lot like the Vanquish, and when the EF Vanquish comes out in Europe, I will definitely buy it as a spare model for F3A, and perhaps as a first model, and the Evo becomes spare, we'll see.....
