<div>We had 36 pilots at PropNuts R/CClub in Crosby over the weekend.Wehad 95+ degree heat Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but that did not deter a fantastic group of up-and-coming pattern fliers along with a healthy dose of World-Class Masters and FAIpilots from showing up in mass. We had competitors from 5 states present (TX, OK, LA, AR, AZ)- remember, this is not in the Northeast, this is Texas, where you can drive 900 miles and STILLbe in Texas.
The competitors did a fantastic job of "ready" flying and weflew five rounds, 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. FAIflew 2 rounds of F-09 on Sunday, what treat to watch this group compete. The competition in all classes was top notch. Sportsman was won by 8 points. Less tthan 50 points were between 1st and 3rd in Masters, and 64 points separating 1st and 2nd in FAI.
The Prop-Nuts R/C club adopted the Pattern guys as if they were all members. From Friday, where Ifound three memberseagerly waiting in the heat for me to help prepare the field, to the concessions, and the cleanup afterward, these guys took ownership of this thing and ran with it. Thank you Prop-Nuts....
What a fantastic venue for Pattern flying.
Mark Hunt and IwereCo-CD's, and Icould not have done it without him. Ihad Leslie Hanner doing scoring. Icould not find her at the computer half of the time....Oh yeah, that's because she was caught up and waiting on us....
We also had Andy Hunt, Brian Lewis, Stephanie and Amber running scores, and keeping the judges watered...Thanks guys you did a great job. All Ihad to do was stand around and make noise on the PAand try stay out of the way.

As a member of Prop Nuts, Iam glad you guys had a good event and you had such a great turnout. Sorry about the heat but at least the wind was down the runway. Sorry that Icould only make it the first day but it was a treat to see you guys fly.
