Well, I admit defeat.
I've been trying to get an OS91Fx to run in my Swallow EX. I've fitted the shim, installed a perry pump, adapted a OS1.6Fx header and fitted a tuned pipe. I've been messing around for weeks trying to get this engine tuned and to run right. Its inverted and tends to flood as the tank position is high. I have to turn the pump pressure down so that the plug doesn't die at idle, but then it leans on uplines.
so, I admit defeat. I've sent off my order for a new YS FZ110.
Does any-one have any experience with this engine? Will the hatori header from the 91 do the trick? Recommendations for a muffler?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve
Good to see you on the list
The YS header 91 header is fine. Just get a hatori pipe if you want to use one otherwise use the supplied muffler.
The YS will have bags more power than the OS91FX.
The Klotz low viscosity heli oil will be perfect for that engine.
See you in Maryborough.
Cheers

Hi Robert
Saw your 110, before it was sent to you. It was the first one that we'd seen. So me & Artistic Aero had a look. Artistic Aero wants one, but Phil said it was going to you - Damm - we want one!!!
Glad your pleased!

Steveg,
How high was your fuel tank?
Did you use By-pass setup with Perry Pump?
What size prop?
My 91SX-H will be mounted inverted with fuel tank on CG.
So far, it is still on a test stand upright turning APC 15x8 at 8400 rpm. rich-mid range.
I will have to adjust the pump today.
Maybe I have to test it inverted before going in to the airframe.
YS 110 will definitely howl your Swallow.
Another guy is using Tower 75 2-troke standard setup and fly AMA advanced. Not sure if the plane is EX version.

Hi Steve
Sorry to hear that the OS/Perry pump setup didn't work out. Years ago I had the same problem with an inverted OS 108 2stroke. Tank was to high and I had no room to move. Well to cut a long and frustrating story short I got a Cline Regulator and never looked back. I'm sure the YS will be a great performer but if you ever find yourself in the same situation again, I can highly recommend the Cline Reg.
Cheers and enjoy the YS.
