We will have concessions at the field tomorrow. Sorry Joe no Philly Cheeze Steaks.
Joesph is at a complete disadvantage. He can't decide between Intermediate and Masters. He does not want to do FAI til he puts a T cantillator on his Angel. You can encorage him. He just picked up a heli.
I'll be there with spare YS 160 to get Bob in the air.
See you guys.

Getting ready. Great day of practice. Food is good. Planes everywhere. Good to see Arch Stafford at the field. Joey Hayes and Bill Holsen practicing. Larry trying out the new Advanced sequence and looking pretty good.
Lotto keeping Chewey in line.
Great thanks for the FARM club for hosting. Bill McMullen running the lines and NVRC for Pat Dunlap heading up the scoring team assisted by Nick Burhans (FARM).
There was some full scale aerobatics practice going on behind us, and out a bit far but visible.
Aerobatic biplane rides available for Sunday afternoon at Bealeton. Great flying site, great weather looking forward to a contest. We opened up pre-registration and 19 pilots quickly came forward and are now registered.
We had the battle for Ed Alt to come down. P11 scoresheets printed and ready....
Regards,
Don

Great contest. Definitely the best one I've been involved with. This is largely due to Bill McMullen who ran the lines, and Pat Dunlap with Nick Burhans that did the scoring in a most efficient manner. Larry Kauffman was thanked for his stepping in as D2 NSRCA VP. He had some unfinished business from last year- primarily man of the year award and last year's NSRCA District Championships award. Joey Hayes and Charles Simmons stepped forward for recognition. The contest got underway promptly after the Pilot's meeting. We ran two lines, and since the wind was blowing in about 7 to 10 Saturday morning, I took the suggestion of a fellow D3 flyer- we had the midair avoidance rule. If it looks like you are going to hit another plane, you can bail out of the maneuver and re-fly. This worked. No midairs this weekend. All planes remained in tact.

...and the Hangar had the look and feel of a museum. Cars, Planes, hot engines. By the way, if you know any modelers looking to purchase a 90% Pitts, we know where one is available. Several club members and IMAC flyers got it in fine tuned polished up ready for action.

What year was the Ford???? Fast engine...
The radial is from a WWII float plane (Twin engine) which Mr. R renovated and now resides at the Warrinton/Faquier Airport. By the way there was a full scale IAC competition this weekend there. Basic through Advanced. We could hear the engines racing from a distance. Their box is about 5 miles. We had some fly-bys as you can see from previous posts.

Once again, great contest. Very good competition with some close scores going between 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd in Sportsman, Intermediate, and FAI. Lets see, looking at the result of the "youses versus the y'alls" competition. The D2 flyers beat D1 flyers by 4 to 1. Got to get some Northerners down next time to take a shot at getting the title back.

Wanted to add a personal thank-you to the thread. I went down for my third Pattern contest and immediately felt like I'd been a lifetime club member. "Y'all" put on a great contest and know how to make someone feel like a friend. Thanks Don and thanks Chris for inviting me and of course thanks to all the awesome judges and their fantastic input. Can't wait for next year!
Joe P.
P.S. Just thought I'd share a quick photo of Don and his son Joseph flying at the same time. I'll try to upload my other photos to the club web page on coppermine tomorrow.

Yep,...it was a great contest with AWESOME weather to boot! For me it was my first contest flying electric with the VF3 with only eight flighs prior to the contest and I was very happy with the plane after we straightened out the speed controller/ Xmitter issues,..that were hit and miss issues,.....Thank you Joey Hayse for all your help!
Reminder to self,...don't over tighten the canopy screw,..it tends to come off in flight when you do that,...Duhhhhhhhh!
Again,. I enjoyed meeting new people and putting names to faces,.........Great contest for sure.
