Default futaba 9z

hi guys i have a problem with my radio and hope some of you can help me to fix it; ive recently flew my US 60 (flies great) at the time of triming the plane found out that when ever flip the dr on my trim changes;
taking the time to find out what hapen i could not set the dr correctly but cant fix it
my set up as follows:

i did set the ATV at 110 (both ail and flap) (flaperon activated every thing at 100%)
the AFRset at 95(expo -20)
the dr at 78(expos -18)

is there some thing wrong with the programing or is it normal that trim changes when you flip of the dr

thanks in advanced

PS Im not willing to change Radio Brand!![:-]

Have you tested your DR settings on another model in the radio? If another model's DR works without shifting center, then it is probably the programming for the model where you are experiencing problems. If the DR shifting problem occurs on multiple models, you may need new pots in the 9Z. If I remember correctly, the shifting center is a symptom of worn pots in the TX.

If I remember correctly, with the 9Z - I assume it's the old 9ZAP, ZAPS & the WCII - when you flip the D/R, the ATV & the P-mixes will change. Meaning, let's say you've set your ATV to 110% for your normal flying, when you turn on D/R, the ATV will switch it back to 100% - it will not automatically carry the new set values over. I've learned this the hard way at a contest about 10 years ago, I've set my throttle ATV to a certain value for normal flying. However, when I flip the D/R for my ele, it cuts out my motor.

The way to check it is to go to the ATV page, see whether the value changes when you switch on D/R. If it does, all you need to do is to enter the same ATV value when the D/R is activated.

Check the pots. Had the same problem with my old 9Z and sent it in and had the pots replaced. Noticed the same problem with switching rates... Good luck.

Could be the pots (problems usually show up with abnormal servo movements around neutral or the bad point, usually neutral as that is where the stick sits most of the time. ) Could also simply need recalibration. Change in centering with flipping switches (D/R) is the usual symptom when out of calibration. Unfortunaately you have to enter the service menu to recalibrate. Several aftermarket Campacs have the ability to activate the service menu and usually come with directions to do this.
