It's 4-1/4 inches if you're putting the pipe under the wing.. it should be reduced to 2 inches if the pipe runs behind a rear exhaust engine.

Pipe location did not determine the stab location on the Tipo. Whether or not the stab was joined with anhedral decided the location. The Dick Hanson kit has both locations marked on the fuse in the Tipo+ kit. I don't know if he marked both locations on the original fuse.

I was referring to the original Tiporare which didn't have the straight stab option. Taking away the pipe alters the skidding and drag characteristics of the fuselage.

I flew the original Tipo with the pipe both down the side of the fuse and under the wing. This was on the same model. Both pipe installations flew exactly the same. The location of the pipe made no difference even with the stab in a single location.

Default Glad to hear that !!

John,

Thanks for the update... I just came into possession of a new/old Tipo which I am doing a complete strip/recover of and am going to put an almost new Rossi RE in it.... I was concerned that the stab angle was going to make a difference... I will post a pic when I get thru with her... this place makes for a great clearinghouse of information..!!!

Thanks,

Deadstik....
