True, true Dennis, Pete could sit back and launch fireworks in the safety and anonimity of the faceless crowd of those who prefer to throw stones... OR... He could man up and FLY!!! he could BE the target.

Granted... He's clearly already the target...lol. But he brought that on himself.

He's strangely silent on the subject... PETE! oh Pete! Where for art thou Pete???

Actually putting out a lot fires today....I pop on here and am greeted by my host of friends..... You have no idea how much I need this laugh today.

Won't be coming, I'll be in Pittsburgh Friday instead of coming to Wheeling....now if one of you guys found me a new job......

Someone at least have some cow for me. That alone is makes the trip worth it, just not this year.

I will be making the first flight on my night flyer in about an hour, Hopefully it will work out ok. Seems like it may be underpowered with a 3-cell pack. but soon we will see.

Yes!!!!! This could be one of the only events this year that won't be effected by bad weather.
Shootout: No Sunday due to wind Saturday rain storm almost killed us
Milwaukee: No Saturday due to rain and fog
Jimmy Hubbard: No Sunday due to thunder storms
Nats: Finals shortened due to a bad thunder storm
Peoria sat deleayed due to rain
St Louis: Ok but windy, hot dusty etc etc etc plus a bad sun problem in theAM both days. Nice contest though
St Charles Ill. Rain delays contest on Sat. shortened contest to 4 rounds. The worst sun problem I have ever flown in last weekend facing south.

Just for you Arch. maidened a brand new airplane and waited until 8:30 at night to fly it. Seemed to fly ok not great probably need some minor adjustments. Probably will not get a chance to do anything to it.

And i have to agree the stick on LED's from Hobbyking are a vast improvement over the glo sticks. I should have routed them differently but nobody ever accused me of being bright, Allthough my dad used to call me son

Flew my combat thingy vs. Dave last night, had fun and survived. Saw Rick leaving the field with a handful of components for the one he's not building.

Just curious, are we even having the pattern part of the contest? I can bring more stuff for other activities if I don't have to bring the pattern plane

That I think is still the best part of this contest...this entire thread I don't think has actually mentioned the pattern contest once...

Pattern Contest????

I maidened my night fly plane last night as well. The LED's are amazing. I'm pretty sure they're TOO bright. I'm considering taping over them to mute the lights a little bit. I think in the pitch dark it'll actually be too much.

I also maidened 2 more combat wings...One for Pannell , and one for Mueller. That makes 6 that I'm bringing.

Looks like we're going to have amazing weather for a change. AND...it's raining right now (up in Cleveberg) so I'm hoping it's raining in Cinci... We need to wet the place down before Saturday night. I don't want to end up on the morning news.

Brenner wants to fly pattern at night with the LED's. Over or under bet. Brenner 5 flights after the patternflying stops on Saturday. I'll put $5 on the over.
Hey Mark I have led's too. I'll bring them and you can show me what to do with them. Yes 1 more day!!!! M²

I was thinking about JUST that. A Night Pattern contest!!!! I'd be quick to light up Sean's Osiris for the event. We might need to plan that. Have a night contest with a moderate unknown pattern that pretty much everyone could fly and would work without having to have a 2m airplane (I.e. no snaps and not too heavy on the big verticals).

Hmmmmmmm......

As for Brenner...No one will take that bet...lmao. Are you listening Mr. Sharp?? We're going to put Brenner and Bob Fortino into a head to head practice tournament. First one to put their plane away loses.

I'm game. I'm bringing my Great Planes Cherokee, and I've flown the Masters Sequence with it.

Sounds like a plan.

Keep those night planes coming, I've been practicing my aim with the field artillery
However i might bring a hard hat since the planes have been fighting back the last couple of years!
Going to miss not having my field gunner, Frank,[&o] there though[&o]

I'm just finishing up my combat wing and ran into a slight snag. The side force generators and the variable pitch prop set up were no problem but I'm having trouble aligning the T cantalizer. I guess I will maiden it tomorrow morning in Kentucky. I will also bring a pattern plane.

Just think how many water balloons you could carry in the bomb bay of that thing. That would be lots of fun to use to "fight back."

I'll write Frankie's employer a note, Telling them he's to well to attend work. And he needs a vacation. It won't be the same without Doc and Frank together. So tell Frank to call in sick!!!!!Hungover, car won't start, The neighbor's dog died, anything to get out of work.
On a sadder note i think Frankie lost his B-25
