Does anyone know when the field will be open for practice for the D4 Championships in Hebron?

Thanks,

Guys from Ohio get no practice, But seriously it pretty much starts early in the day. Not sure if he is putting the lines on the field Thursday night or not. I might be there Thursday night, So don't wake up the guy in the tent.

Finally got the Bat flying, And be prepared if my night flyer gets done in time, 180 LED's this badboy is bright, Now if i get it done in time will be a different story.

Are you bringing anyone from St. Clairsville besides the Cilles'es?

Does anyone have directions to the field?
Is there a particular motel everyone tries to stay at?
Thanks!

Dennis,
Dave R (Sportsman) may be part of the St.C. group depending on how some scheduled events go.

John,

Check the flyer from the Northern Kentucky pattern contest for directions that is still on the D4 website. It is the same field in Hebron, KY. Also, you can look up the Flying Cardianls of Northern KY on the web. If you have questions, call me. Dave J.

As far as hotels avoid the Knights inn on Dream street, Used to stay there all the time it got progresively worse. And finally could'nt take it anymore. And i'm not picky at all about hotels but this one just got GROSS!!!!!!!!

This will be our second year at Comfort Suites. Huge rooms, very clean and very reasonable rates.

Come on D, that place was great. Part of the fun was figuring out which building was going to have hot water that year.

I could deal with the hot water situation, But one of the final straws was the Black nasty moldy stuff all over the bed. I could deal with walls having holes in them, plugged up toilets etc. etc. but the Black moldy, Nope gotta draw the line somewhere. That and Aleta said never again.
The Super 8 just down the street was only about two bucks a night more, and a lot nicer. Have to carry your stuff thru the hall ways because they do not have outside access, But i can deal with that.
Not sure where i'm staying this weekend i will figure it out later. Gotta check the weather maybe a Super 8 on Friday and a tent on Saturday. Not sure yet. To bad Aleta won't be with me this weekend as she runs the show and tells me where i'm staying.

Well, it looks like I'll be there Friday. Jon Lowe is meeting me there to pick up Pritch's Black Magic that I have here. I'll be there around 4 on Friday HOPEFULLY and will be staying at the Comfort Suites.

The Field should be open for practice pretty much all day Friday. We'll be marking the field sometime during the day.

New this year... ELECTRICITY!!! They ran power to the flight line so charging up batteries should be a little easier (and quieter) this year.

COMBAT!!! Many of you already have the plans and have made foam combat wings for the evening (Pre night fly) activies. I will likely have a few extra Bats ready to fly IF...IF you bring a spare Rx. We may also make a few during the day on Saturday (they don't take too long to build.) So bring a spare Rx if you have one (something small...but doesn't need to be micro).

Looking forward to seeing everyone and to flying FAI again after getting my butt handed to me in Masters this weekend. Apparently "unknowns" are not my thing...lol

Are 72 mHz radios OK for combat Mark?
Are we flying streamers or is it full contact?

72mhz is fine, thought we'll be able to get more in the air if most are on 2.4 As for streamers...I consider them a sign of weakness. But yes, we'll have 8' streamers tied to 4' of thread. I think...

But let's face it...the streamer merely acts as a decoy.

Cheapskate (or is that Frugal? lol),
Expedia shows the Quality Inn and Suites, Erlanger at $60. Looks like its in the same location as Comfort Suites.

Test flew my night airplane last night. I'm using the stick on lights from Hobby City and man do they work well. Also nice that the plane flies the same without the lb of glow sticks on them.

Looking forward to the weekend.

I have 10 gallons of Cool Power 30% Heli left from before my conversion to electric.
I'll bring it if someone wants it.
I'd like to get $20/gallon.
PM if interested.
