I guess it looks kind of insincere but I really do admire precision flying and it's something I plan on learning in the coming year. A few of my fellow club members are very good and I plan on learning from them. Right now I don't even understand the Aresti language.

New Year's resolutions.....
1. Finish my Spark Dynamic in January. 2. Finish my Joe's Hybrid CNC router. 3. Finish my Black Magic VF3E by July 2012 or sooner. Cheers, Jason. |
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
Mine is simple.
Get a couple airplanes built, fly the crap out of them, and compete in the Nats. |
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
To work hard on flying the various patterns.... to improve my skill... never fly a pattern contest.... to simply enjoy flying to the best of my ability.

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
Ok maybe this thread is for the more advanced fliers BUT late in the 2011 season I was having a conversation with one of the best pilot's in our club (who has competed in pattern) about goal's and progressing my flying skills so I decided to learn 2 new manuvers this season from the sportsman catagory. So where do I find a list and instructions?. I do miss Ed Mooreman's articles in rc report from a few years ago. I have the planes that are capable.

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
My resolution is to support my District and fellow pattern flyers by going to as many contests as I can and have fun while doing it. Actions speak louder than words. Victor I'll be at the Shootout, you work hard at your contests and have fun while doing so ! Count with me in whatever you need. For those of you that don't know me I am an A&P ,I fly Intermmediate and looking to move to Advanced within a year and to Masters in two years. And I have fun while flying pattern, wether I win or wether I get my butt handed to me.

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
wesaysoracing, speaking as a retired RN, I encourage you to continue to try to participate in any type of RC flying activity. Your stated resolution can be both emotionally and physically therapeutic. My New Year's resolution is to offer you support and hope so that you can continue to recover and enjoy future success. Take care of yourself, Everette

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
Everette thanks for the support ,all i can say is i have never experienced that kind and level of pain before and i sure dont want to again,i finally can get up and move around a little now without being in severe pain and i can drive a little now , doc thinks i will recover to about 50% of where i used to be before the injury its a long slow road
|
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
Good luck on your recovery, wesaysoracing!
Pattern flying can offer a great distraction and a goal that rewards the persistence and patience you have no doubt learned from your experience. My goal is to end 2012 not so fat, and for this I have no excuse. I have been thinking about it for a while, and I am going to try to run/walk at least 3 mi/day, 5 days per week. Either I will do it in the morning or evening in one gulp or, if I am flying, get in a half mile after each flight. I've gotta do something because I used to be in pretty good shape from mountain biking and winter mountaineering and now I look like a pregnant manatee.[&o] Oh, and lay off the potato chips. Pattern flying is not exactly a 'slimming' activity!! |

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
ORIGINAL: ArchNemesis So what other pattern resolutions are out there?? Attend the Nats to fly pattern again. Been too long... OOOOps that's two revolutions, but who's counting |
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
My resolution is to do more concentrated practice on specific elements of pattern flying, starting with rolls. I have two seasons in Intermediate and know my weaknesses well, so it's time to focus on them.

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
To get my plane ready so I can compete in my first pattern contest (been a spectator for many years).
Although looking at the results last year I may have to move up to Intermediate just to have someone to compete with. |
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
A generous man sold me his Focus III so I will take advantage of that and begin competing.
