RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
Any reason you have no desire to try to fly in a contest? You have several in Northen VA, mine in Southern, MD and events in NJ. You should come out to fly with several of us when we get together to practice in Northern VA. We have a lot of fun and learn a lot. Arch Joan and I really enjoyed it last year! |
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
ORIGINAL: petec ORIGINAL: Strat2003 My resolution is to do more concentrated practice on specific elements of pattern flying, starting with rolls. I have two seasons in Intermediate and know my weaknesses well, so it's time to focus on them. Ricky is a walking photo op when it comes to doing things he shouldn't. I'll just have to bring the camera more often. ;) |
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
Bob,
That is the plan. If I am still heavily involved in NATS planning by then I am doing something wrong. By that time I should just be taking entries and such. Scott Smith is working on a new scoring program which will help with flight orders and such, but I am definitely planning on having another D1 vs D2 contest this year. The date will probably be around the same time, although I am also considering shifting it forward some as I'm not 100% Oasis is going to happen this year. Having mine a little further south might work out well. Arch |
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
My resolution is to practice and get the chance to go to the nats for the very first time and fly FAI. Me and my dad are also trying to get his own biplane design finnished and ready to fly :D

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
I lost two planes in 2011 (Valiant and Spark Dynamic) so my resolution is to absolutely not have another one crashed this year!!! [:@] Further then that I hope to be able to practice enough so I can compete in FAI again this year!!

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
To get the honeydo list cut down to a point where I can get something-almost anything-in the air for at least one contest this season.

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
I'm still new to the pattern world, and attended my first contests last year. So my goals for this year is to get a better plane, get more practice time to perfect my Sportsman manuevers, and then attend at least 3 pattern contests this year. I placed 4th and 3rd in the two contests I flew last year, so I'm hoping to place in the top 3 at each event this year.
Hoping to meet more pattern folks this year, and have fun doing it. dax |

RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
Been fortunate enough to accomplish one of my resolutions already:
Cleaned the workshop so I can find sh..tuff again. Outfitted the shop with more light and a pair of butcherblock tables from the local high school where my bro works. They were replacing their kitchen tables and, man what a pair of useful tables these are already in my shop. |
RE: What is YOUR 2012 New-Year's Pattern Resolution?
I've been thinking about doing that in my shop, I can barely walk in it, but no time at all, so much for my resolutions so far.....
One thing, I am planning on flying my Vanquish MKII every day, two flights, 15 min total, I think that will help me a lot. Oh well, there will be time..... Regards Alejandro P. |
