RE: Widebody 60 question
Ok, I did.

RE: Widebody 60 question
Nope just a normal Nylon mount.

RE: Widebody 60 question
Robert, Are you running a 2 stroke or 4 stroke on yours?
|
RE: Widebody 60 question
I have a 1.10
Vibration is a little high but it lives. |
RE: Widebody 60 question
thanks Robert, I think the 110 needs a soft mount. It shakes pretty good.
I'm gonna use an Ola-Pasto-Hyde in mine. |
RE: Widebody 60 question
I flew my Widebody with the MK bellcrank for the past 3 days. The bellcrank does have limited travel, but the major thing that I am unhappy with is the larger clevis holes. I'm using Dubro kwik clips with the safety clip, and the diameter of the bellcrank holes are too large. It allows slop.
There is another bellcrank available, and it looks almost exactly like the MK only it is yellow. Try: http://www.nbengineering.net/accesories.htm The price is $25 and uses two threaded bolts instead of one. |
RE: Widebody 60 question
I inquired about these last week, and NB advised that this is not a stock item and they don't anticipate having any in before May. They were very prompt in thier response and I ordered some colored control horns. I was thinking on going the bellcrank route on a new Epsilon...may go with the DEPS system instead...plus it looks cleaner. [8D]

RE: Widebody 60 question
I won't use a bellcrank on the next kit, which should be the 40 sized Epsilon. I've thought it over, and will use a dowel instead. I'll run 2 2-56 rods out to each elevator half. I'll have to put a lot of support in the fuselage to keep the dowel moving straight and tight. I may use grommets and tubing with grooves in the dowel for each rod to lay flat alongside it. It should be possible to make without slop or flexing.

RE: Widebody 60 question
Does the .60 have a pipe tunnel? I have a hanno .60 and pipe that needs a pattern plane. Thanks in advance.
|
RE: Widebody 60 question
no it doesnt have a pipe tunnel

RE: Widebody 60 question
The photo of the Epsilon in the built up stage & without covering at the CA Models website shows it to be very similar to the Widebody. A tunnel looks to be difficult, but not impossible. It would depend on your bashing skills and the main gear that seems more mid plane on the Epsilon than Widebodys. I have the 40 and a friend has the 60. The 60 uses 4 wing bolts and my 40 uses 2 and 2 dowels on the leading edge. I would guess that you will have 4 hard points on the Epsilon for the wing. The wings have a pan box underneath that you build up on the wing bottom. A pipe tunnel would be easy there, and maybe under the main gear attaching point. The gear is where you would have to be creative with a tunnel. I think it could be done the more I think about it, but you will have to spend a little time planning it out.
