Synergy 90 ARF
Thrust is right and down.
Elevator servos are into separate channels and mixed. I do not like CA hinges in situations where the through will be excessive. The pre-cut slots are not a good fit for CA hinges. If you decide to use CA hinges then I recommend making your own slots away from the pre-cut ones. Mark |
Thanks
Thanks Mark
The pieces i slowly coming together. I am not that experienced with building. Have mostly put together ARF kits with instructions. With this expensive kit it is better to ask one question to much than take a chance.... One more question: I have a Dubro Motormount with antivibration rubber. It is a bit big for the plywood mounting plate, can I stick to the ordinary Dave Brown glassfilled engine mount without dampening or will this lead to vibration problems? :D |
Mark....
Had a slight mishap with the Synergy this weekend.
Any idea who I talk to about a new cowl and canopy? Sorry to bother you if you don't have anything to do with this plane. Thanks, Pugs |

Mark, Whats the distance from firewall to back of prop driver on your YS 110?
Cheers. |

the Synergy 90 is to heavy
|
Distance.
Off the top of my head, I want to say 165mm. I could be wrong on that. I'll have to take the measurement in the factory. I'll be back.
Mark |
Not 165
Try 145mm. This is not set in stone. From 135 to 145 is fine from the drive washer to mount base. 145 works nicely on the YS.

the syn 90 is deffinitly not to heavy, besides i heard somwhere that the artf kit is lighter than cplrs proto.and it looks better than your picture you posted, sorry just personal preferance,i fly a syn 90 and i must say it is a serious piece of kit. |
Synergy 90 ARF
I think anyone who says the Synergy 90 is heavy has got to be seriously kidding....

I checked the specs on the MK airplane.
It would seem by looking at the specs that the 3D Dancer is actually a tiny bit smaller and a tad heavier then the Synergy 3D. The second batch of Synergys that we received actually were a little bit lighter than the first batch. Believe me, the first batch flies just fine. Watching Marco rip up the skies with JP's airlpane in Romilly made us all gawk in awe.
As far as the MK airplane goes, I love MK kits. Someday when I have achieved my near term goal of being in the top 7 of Belgium and I have a back-up airplane and as many 2 meter 3Ds (I'm buying the Syn 140 3D soon I think), I will buy a couple of the MK baby airplanes and do the imaculate job on them. For immediate use and plain functionality, I don't think the Syn90 has yet been beat in weight or function, OR speed from box to sky. And remember, break in those 110s for a bit before you mount them. The hour you take on the bench for a gallon might save you two hours on a repair if you dead stick into the rough. |

Cool, I'll bolt the 110 into an old plane and run her in the garden now.

By the way, did you get over your birthday hangover?
|
Synergy 90 ARF
Mark,
Turns out the engine problems I had werethe fuel, must be a little old. I got a send batch and the fuel I used must have come from an earlier batch. The check valve although tight was leaking air. This made the top end poor and the mid range unreliable. Had at least one day of good flying with the plane now. I am running a 15 x 8 apc and I think I will try a 16 x 6 or 16 x 8 from some more thust. But what a machine!!! Cheers Kris |
Hi Kris
I just love it when a plan comes together. The 16-8 should put you right into the prime power band. The 15-8 spins to fast on 30% for us.
No birthday hangover was had (quite drinking many year ago...Kris, I'm sure, remembers I'm a tea toting whimp). It was sometime soon after a British light infantry unit from Wales was visiting us in Korea and I lost three days one night. OUCH! I can still feel the pain. Those Welsh sure can put it down. My poor dog was home alone for three days...my house and myself were a mess. |
Synergy 90 ARF
Ran the 110 on a 16x8. just left the needle at 1.5 turns, and let her roll......Very nice. Gardens full of smoke though. Wasted one and a half tanks of 30% coolpower...Is that enough?
