RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
rgreen,
Warnings against using ball links on the sides of the phenolic arms have been in the manuals of all our kits for at least 10 years. This setup is a definite no-no on our large aerobatic models and a clevis works perfectly well. On a 2m pattern model with reduced loads(?) you may well get away with it but why risk it? ;) Your Otop may well a similar but different material OR it may be the same material and manufacturer has not have experienced its twisting limitations as Comp-ARF have on their larger models. If you have to use a ball link we recommend you use the supplied arms as a template and cut your own from a different material. Rgds, Mark |

Any idea of a price yet Mark?

RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Dear Jason, thank for sharing with us the construction of the Integral, I was waiting to hear from this new model, do you think that glow engines behave better with strong winds than electrics?, or is just the way an individual flies it?
Thanks Alejandro |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
hi JASON..
Dont forget the video camera;) WE LOOOVe Video:D keep on the good Woork |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
rgreen24 thks, however when i read this post i read about a fuselage failure etc... how's yours doing?? Also, no pictures of the setup etc.. i can call you via phone, etc if you like, just looking for some information.. thks don

RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
I do not want to Hi-jack this thread with talk of the Otop. that being said, I have not had any issues with my OTOP. I still contend that it is one of the best planes that I have ever flown right out of the box. I am switching to go with something having a wider body for more constant speed.

Here's how I have the linkages on the Integral.
Unless someone has a video camera.... Glow/Electric... it's all in how the individual sets-up/flies the plane. |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
rgreen 24, Agree 100% on the hijack thread issue, that's why i sent you my personal email.Thks, and we too are awaiting the test flight of the Integral... Come on Jason, you have us all captive.
Looks to be a great ship! Don |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Jason,
Not sure if you agree but I would be telling comp-ARF to move the horn locations on wing and stab to get everything as close to 90 degrees as possible on the production versions. Those arms sure look long on your servos? Peter |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Peter,
There are no slots cut for the horns in case one chooses not to use them, I cut them there. I, however, will continue to mount mine like this. The reason- at full deflection, the pushrod is straight there-by not loosing any “mechanical advantage” (might not the right choice of words here). Personal preference. Although after I figure out what throws I want on the surfaces, I will try and move the pushrods in on the arms and down on the surface to achieve the same thing. Currently this is the identical set-up from my Impacts. Rain, rain go away, I want to race at Tangerine (this weekend) http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5060082/tm.htm |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Jason, quick question about your nose ring set up. Do you have to remove the nose ring from the plane, the remove the engine or does it just slide out? And also who makes the nose ring that you are using?
Thanks R |

Nice plane how did it perform???? |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Nice plane how did it perform???? I would appreciate how clean his cockpit setup done. Excellent job Mr Zardini... it sounds like a pleonasm to me. [sm=thumbs_up.gif] Bonnes fêtes de fin d'année en Belgique et dans le reste de la francophonie. J.-A. |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Hello Julius
Merci beaucoup, mon anglais n'est pas très bon. J'ai fait 4 vols aujourd'hui dans le vent et la tempête, et les impressions sont excellentes . Vous pouvez passer le message si vous voulez ? Thanks JP |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Avec grand plaisir, mais je trouve que vous vous débrouillez fort bien en Anglais. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
JP made 4 flights today into a stormy like weather (typical Belgian weather :D) and his first impressions are excellent. I would be very pleased to see the first flights of JAZ Integral in Apopka next week. I guess he is busy pylon racing this WE, no? [link=http://www.rcacf.com/]rcacf[/link] J-A |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
OK, now that this is over for me: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5060082/tm.htm I'm going back to work on the Integral. I was hoping to fly it tomorrow, but it looks like rain later in the day (when racing is finished), so I may wait til Monday afternoon when it's supposed to stop (and I have fuel).
Robert, the nose ring comes off with the motor. Its a very tight Speedmax nose ring that I found in a box. |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Thanks JAS, I really like that set up.

RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
jason do you have a date when they will be available
thanks walter ps let us know how it goes at the contest this week i know a few guys from dist 1 will be there |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
How do you like the plane so far? I can just confirm the shape of the plane looks as beautiful in pictures as in real.

RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
The first and 2nd shipments are sold out. So March is where you're probably looking at if you're not already on a reps list.
With 4 flights on it, 3 a bit under-powered with a YS (waiting for new proto OS-200 in a couple of weeks), it goes through P and F fine. F is way easier than it is with my Impact, but not as polished cause of only a few flights. Just playing around with CG and throws now to make it all look good. If it's not windy, I'll fly it in the contest. If it's windy, I'll just fly it afterwards for show. No need for high rate rudder unless you want to do some 3D flying...lol. Oh yea, 10lbs 2ozs. And I only have 2 runs of CA on the canopy... :( |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
J.
Did you decide on a YS, or is that a typo? Greg Grigsby |
RE: Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
Yea, what happend to the OS200 you had at the Jax. contest. I was wanting to here a report on the engine myself.
