Jon,

Raiko is still finalizing the details...excluding custom graphics (includes Z-Lique logo) with a clear sprayed fuel proof finish, with hardware, should be around $150.

Jon,

Mine is the exact replica from the one they use in Japan. Therefore, will not be that cheap. If Raiko can

Mine is the exact replica from the one they use in Japan. Therefore, it will not be cheap. If Raiko can make them for $150.00, you should get it from him.

Jon, we will be carrying Raiko's stands very soon. The plan is to have a standard version, and a "signature" version. The signature version will be made to order, and feature Raiko's customizing skills taken to a whole new level. We'll have them at GMA! The production runs of these are still in development, but should be available very soon.

I had to redo some things, and get someone interested in prototyping it out. That is currently being done so I should have an answer soon.

One way or another, yes they'll be done soon. I hope very soon....because I need one!

Tim,

It looks very cool, but more importantly, is it available for sale?

Thanks,
Kevin

RE: Wood support

Yes, they'll be available very soon. Stay tuned for pricing and availability. These are hand made and they won't be available in large numbers. Ordering info will be coming soon. Right now we're deciding which level to make them in. We can make them in Kit form, ARC, ARF and INSANELY Blinged if one wants it. We can make them from Bunbinga wood if you want. The only thing we can't make them from is Unobtainium, it's a very rare material. :)

Tim,

Thanks, and I will keep my eyes open for your information. Been looking for one for a while, and I was about to start cutting my own kits until I saw yours.

RE: Wood support

Ok the cat is out of the bag!

These stands will be available before Christmas in limited quantities.

This entire adventure is a collaboration between myself and Mike Hester. He and I talked at the D2 Championship and we decided to try and make stands that rivaled the Japanese stands.

What brought my interest in these stands was two fold. I'd used the common screw driver in the ground with a strap. Until I broke the stab loose in my Focus. The strap was just too much pull on the stab for a run above 1/2 throttle. I also had a strap scare me one day when it wasn't tight and the airplane rolled forward on start up, I reached around the nose to grab the airplane and instantly got into the prop tip. I wasn't cut but had 5 nice welts on the soft portion of my forearm, it was that close. That was it, I was done with the straps.

So after meeting Mike and talking a bit we decided to join forces and try to come up with a stand that would work well, look good and be the best over-all design on the market.

Mike and I figured the stands you see the Japanese use are almost directed solely towards Pattern Planes. They were not adjustable to any real extent. So we knew we had to make ours EASILY adjustable for the Pattern flier and the local sport flier for a broader appeal.

Mike is a hard Master and demands perfection, anyone that has bought one of his kits or airplanes knows what I'm talking about. Well after several prototypes I've come up with something he actually likes. I assure you he won't put his seal of approval on something that's not up to his standards.

I think we've done it.

Mike should have the info up on his website in the next two weeks or so for pricing and ordering.

Raiko ,, looks like your stand is a hit ,:DI really like Mine, and I`m glad Mike has done something with it . Now,,,,
do you have any other Ideas we could produce <G>
BTW how are my stick planes turning out?

MHester 11-27-2007 01:07 AM

RE: Wood support

Yep the design is still Raiko's flavor, we just made a few changes to make it more flexible and user friendly. But the design and flavor is still Raiko. I think Tim did a fantastic job with the modifications. We should have some specific info very soon.

RE: Wood support

I agree,
Tim did a couple needed Mods. and I know how much time went into those stands.
I`m sure they won`t be Cheap But, well worth it. like anything hand crafted.
Their great if you have a hard surface to start on because loose stone and dust particles can be sucked into the Engine
running the Motor Up, even some grass sites have this problem.
The Japanese fly mostly on river banks ,,very sandy so they are purpose built to keep dust and sand out of the Engine ,Mostly,
and the cool factor don`t hurt
Good job Mike I`m glad you took the time to have it produced
Now when are you going to start on the Way Cool FAI start up table HUM!

I just recieved the prototypes for the new plane stands. No graphics and etching, just plain...but purty! I have someone else working on the dress up stuff so they should be ready to go pretty soon.

I'll have this one with me at Tangerine this weekend if anybody wants to see it up close. (I'm going to out of town until Monday so if you don't get an answer on my phone, that's why). It's pretty nice, Tim and Raiko deserve an "atta boy"!

I'll be announcing the prices and start taking orders on the site in the next week or so...stay tuned!
