RE: Fliton Element 170
That little grub screw could be used for both a needle valve extension and for an air filter/venturi - your choice. I'm sure there are many of those little grub screws lying around waiting to be used such as in wheel collets.
As for your YS63 venturi... can't help you but if the throat is the same size as a 160 then try Central Hobbies. :D |
RE: Fliton Element 170
Thanks guys ... the air filter on my YS110 fell out, kinda sucks. I am anxious to get my Fliton, one of my pals already asked me a lot about it, I think he wants one too! Hehehehe ...

RE: Fliton Element 170
Does anybody know what size plywood they're using for the engine mount? Looks kinda thin in the picture.

RE: Fliton Element 170
Hi. Greg Grigsby
Engine mount is around 1/4" plywood. that is strong enough for YS mount. YS mount will set with blind-nut on plywood mount. However, it's a weakness for fuel and oil soak through woodmount. need fuel proof work. I been use this system before. do not worry! Alex Shim |
RE: Fliton Element 170
Hi guys, any advice on what servo to use for elevator and rudder?
I used 9203 for both and now intending to change(on my 2m pattern bird), need some insight from the experience people out there. Thanks :) |
RE: Fliton Element 170
For 2 elevator servos in the stab I would use 9650's, rudder 9155 and if only a single elevator servo perhaps a 9151.

Guys ... can the Fliton Element's mounting use something like this to damped the vibration? This is the Dave Brown one. I mean something of this sort with the nose ring. Thanks!
|
RE: Fliton Element 170
What ever you do, don't use that mount.
It was a revolution in it's day. So was the steam engine. MK make a better one... still steam powered era but least it's usable with firm rubber. Talking from experience? You betcha. |
RE: Fliton Element 170
David ... thanks for the info ... I was not looking to use the Dave Brown one but just wondered if this sort works. I will look into the MK one or whatever else is out there. Man ... I wonder when my Element will arrive?

RE: Fliton Element 170
Use the beam mount from YS,...it incorporates the nose ring.
|
RE: Fliton Element 170
Advanced ... TQ! Shall look into that one.

RE: Fliton Element 170
Your welcome,...someone told me about it recently,..figured I'd pass it on.[8D]

RE: Fliton Element 170
I think I need to rob a bank to get a few more 10S packs! But I do find EP to be much cleaner, only down side is the lack of stick time.

RE: Fliton Element 170
hi patternflyer1 , how're u gonna mount the motor? care to share some pics? :)
|
RE: Fliton Element 170
I will when I get the plane. Not sure when that will be as I haven't heard anything about their arrival into the US lately. I will be putting a Hacker C50 14Xl into it, using a Budd mount if possible.
