dragonfly_master.

I live in Geneva as well. PM me and let's fly sometime! I talked to some buddies who know Jim and face to face, he seemed like a nice guy. I just can't believe he's doing this to a relatively small community.

ALERT!!! I got some info that Jim Stovall was inquiring about an add posted on RCU using the username -- G450-- The seller picked up on the name. I wonder if he was trying to pull off another scam. Have a good one and keep watching for this guy!

This is true. Jim made me an offer for an add using the G450 user name. He claimed the "make offer" feature was not working and made
a private offer. I got the idea he was trying to keep the deal from public view. I refused the deal. Beware.

DB Stovall, now that's funny! what's he think he is DB Cooper. For those of you that know this guy ask him about how he had to turn himself in on that warrant or they were going to pick him up at his work. I guess he paid the bail until his court date. He probably used the money he took from all those RC guy's over the years. The police have the pattern plane in evidence storage that Eric Henderson sent to Jim and never got paid for the deal.Go ahead ask him to his face about this stuff. According to the police when they talked to him at his work he was ready to piss his pants and pass out! I hope all you guy's out in Aurora and at your local fields will watch out for this guy.

Obviously it didn't bother him that much if he's making up new names and trying to buy stuff on the sly..

RE: MISSING EVOLUTION

Hey guys the missing Evoulution is at my friend Bobby's house. It's actually in pretty good shape despite what it's been thru. I have to admit that it's a pretty nice plane. As of now Bobby and I are looking for a needy local flyer ( preferably young and interested in competing in pattern) to take the plane. Eric would prefer that it be handled that way. I really admire how cool Eric has been thru this process.
If that doesn't work we may auction the plane off at my pattern seminar next may here in Chicago and give the proceeds to the team fund raiser.
The major damage to the plane is on the wing where the police department put a big sticker on it and it ruined the covering on the wing. The plane will probably require a new covering on the wing. It's all set up for an OS 160. Mike

Hi Dave, We need to keep watching for this guy because he will be back, I don't think he can help it.

That is really cool of Eric to do that. Have you heard how Jim made out on his visit to court for what he tried to pull on us modelers?

I wonder how the local club guy's are treating him after they found out what he was doing to fellow modelers

I don't know any particulars about Jim. He lives 40 miles from us and I'm pretty sure he isn't in the sport right now. Funny thing is I had 4 very good transactions with him. I know what he did was bad but I must have been a lucky one. I don't actually know the man except that we had transactions. Mike

Hello everyone ! I did a google search on Jim Stovall and it indicated he may still be trading in this hobby online. RC Groups mostly. I will always do a name search of anyone that I deal with online since this guy. Happy new year!

If you have the time, small claims court is a viable option. I had a really bad experience with an R/C radio manufacturer in Poway, CA that refused to make good on products after assuring me on the phone that they would. I took them to small claims court (New Jersey Superior Court) and got a judgment against them. I sent them a copy of the judgment and had to threaten to put a lien on their assets to get the judgment paid. It took six months of them stonewalling and bullying, but in the end, I got my $300 back. Until last year, I'd never sued anybody in my life. I'm sure most people would've let it go for such a small amount, but for once, the little guy won!!
Erichope you can pursue this until you're satisfied!
Kevin
