Here are 2 comparable systems under $300. The first is a Futaba 6XAS and the second is a JR 662. I don't know enough about Hitec systems, but they are also available from Tower.

You can get the Futaba 9caf from Tower Hobbies for $359.99. That includes the transmitter, a campak, and a receiver. You can also get just the 9cap transmitter from Bruckner's hobbies or servo city for 259.99. Bruckner's website is www.brucknerhobbies.com and Servo City's website is www.servocity.com

HiTec has its Eclipse 7 (7 chan) with synth for $220 or a deluxe flight pack (BB servos and universal RX) for $250.

JR 6102, should be $250 or less shipped, replaces the 662 more or less. LOTS of features for a 6 channel radio.

Heliproz has the RD8000 with 5 servos and a 1000 mah Rx battery for $299.99 The Rd will work with all other Rx's and servos so you can still use what you have.
