Crystal Swapping
Here's an odd question that just occurred to me.
I've just acquired an Airtronics RD6000 Sport Tx as well as an Rx and a complete crystal set.
I also have kicking around in my workshop an almost-finished aircraft with a Futaba Rx.
Yes, I do know that the RD6000's allow you to flip between the Airtronics and Futaba/JR encoding schemes.
What I do have as a question is whether or not the crystals are compatible between the two brands (Airtronics and Futaba). Yes, I also know that the Rx crystal will have to have its case modified to fit the Futaba home. (Isn't designed imcompatibility wonderful?)
:stupid:
Have a fun evening and weekend all!

Crystals
I have used Hitec single conversion crystals in JR ABC&W single conversion receivers and Sanwa (Airtronics) single conversion receivers (PPM and PCM) for years, with no problems whatsoever.
Qualification:
1. I live in a remote area. Interference (except the brain to thumb kind) is virtually unknown
2. In Australia the 5 major radio manufacturers use upshift on 36mhz
3. In North America the whole scene with crystal compatibility may be different.
4. I have only referred to single conversion receivers.
Have a good week-end all
