Futaba T6xas Question
Help! I am very confused (doesnt take much) I am trying to hook up dual ailerons- CH1 & CH6 acording to manual.
My question now is, where do I plug in my flaps?
I want to be able to use the flap knop. What am I missing reading the manual?

The 2 channel (1 and 6) aileron set up is used for flapperons. Normally, Channel 5 is for retracts and Channel 6 is for flaps. If you have separate flaps and ailerons, you'll have to "Y-Cord" your ailerons into Channel 1, and use Channel 6 for flaps.

If you have separate flaps and ailerons, the "y" is it. If you have full span ailerons and want to use them as flaperons, there is a setup for it in the book. You can even use some "reflex" if you want but I put a reference line on the knob to so I could tell where center is.
One reason why 6 isn't enough. Even a novice should think of 7 channels as the minimum since most will want at least that much soon into this crazy wonderful hobby/sport.

Thanks! I guess I have to work out my aileron linkages somehow to work in differential. I just thought I was missing something in manual.

Mechanical diff isn't too difficult to establish. The only problem is how to "fine tune" it.
The easiest way I've found with two servos is to re-orient the arm off center on the spline. Normally on ailerons, you'd want more up than down to counteract adverse yaw. In this case, if the servo and horn are on the bottom, lengthen your pushrod and "clock" the servo arm forward of the shaft. You'll have to experiment with how much will work on your plane.

YS, you can simply use 1 & 6, have the flaperons adjustable as flaps on the dial, and then use channel 5 for your regular flaps, and adjust your linkage for up swtich to be no flap and down switch to be dropped flaps.
I'm guessing you have an ultrastik. If so, this is not the radio for that complex airplane. You can't do most of what that airplane calls for with a 6X.

Futaba T6xas Question
Thanks Ann for your reply. It actually is a CGM Chipmunk that I am converting over from single servo/bellcrank to dual servos.
I have elevator/flap mix on the flap knob that I want to keep.
I will go with the Y harness setup.
