Default Single conversion FM problems.

I'm not sure what your question is but I think you are asking: If both an FM and an AM transmitter on the same channel are on, why is there interferance between the two? It is because they are both sending out the same frequency RF so either receiver on that channel will be effected. The FM receiver will not respond properly to the AM signal but it will respond but erratically. Likewise, if an FM signal is being transmitted on the same frequency that your AM reciever is tuned to, it will respond erratically but--it will respond, just not in a useable manner.

sounds like a problem with the RX that warrants sending it in. Even a single conversion Rx should reject completely any interference on a different frequency, whether its an AM or FM TX. If it were the TX's... they'd be causing problems for each other on AM at a minimum, and most likely would be causing problems for at least all adjacent FM frequencies, not just your single conversion RX many frequencies separated.

BTW... double check that the Super 7 is in PPM mode, not PCM. With the TX in PCM mode (which there's no single conversion RX's for) the RX would have all kinds of problems interpreting the signal, and would be unlikely to give any reasonable semblence of proper operation no matter what else is turned on. (and its all too easy to forget that the darn thing has both modes... when all you've used before is the PCM.)

Another thing... (edit add) The synthesized module may be just enough off frequency to cause problems for the single-conversion RX. If memory serves, its been quite a while since that was made. May be time to get it checked by a service center.

The initial... send it in... stands easilly.

The other 2 ideas...
It is an older TX. (what? appx 1993?) That's plenty of time for a synthesizer module to drift. (normally recomended that a TX's tuning be checked at 3 to 5 years, RX same if no crashes, and any tine a problem is suspected... as NOW.)
And there have been wierder things happen than a PPM RX trying to work with a PCM TX, and almost getting away with it.
