Datricus,
As an FYI, I recently talked to JR about this. I needed a two stick car radio and the rest of the world had gone over to the steering wheel versions.

The 2.4 GHz system that you have is not the same as the car radio. You can use it, but it is different in that the car system, and I quote, uses one freq channel and the air system uses two of them. All that means to you is that you can't use a 3ch car JR/Spektrum RX with your DX7.

The good news is that it is ground legal and best of all, the air-receivers have more channels.

I converted my T-MAX to 2.4 GHz using a Spektrum conversion module on a JR347 TX and a 6100 RX.

I fitted a spring to my throttle stick to match the 50/50 usage of the throttle/brake lever to servo on the supplied car radio.

You could use your elevator channel for thottle if you wanted to.

With a 6 or 7 channel RX you have a ton of options for tank functions like turret rotation etc.

You could also use a stick for each track if you had springs on all of them, or have the throttle on one stick and the other as a increase/decrease control for steering.

Either way you will have no ground-range problems with a DX7 and a 6100 RX. I drove my car almost out of sight and have tested the range through and inside metal buildings with great success.

Regards,

Eric.

P.S. you will have to put a fake antenna on a tank because the 6100 antenna is only 3-cm long.
