Gotta be some way of warning you that you are about to crash. At least, a setup costing more than my car ought to.

Well,I had tried plugging my batteries into the channel 8 and 9 for the dual battery setup before I put up my question on this, and the switch going into ch8 would not power the radio. Which is why I asked the question. After Bob and AT replied I went and tried it again. Exactly the same setup. This time it worked perfect. Go figure!!!

No idea about Hitec but Ibought a nice black case on Ebay for about $20 plus shipping. Fits well with room to spare for some extras if needed.

Not at present. A number of users have referred to the
Pelican Case 1450 as being waterproof/shock resistant.

Here is a 9ch radio that will take JR modules and has 8 model memory, all for well under $100.
"2.4ghz,JR COMPATIBLE,TURNIGY 9 CH RADIO,TRANSMITTER,JR"
Please no bashing, actual facts would be appreciated as to why I should pay 5 times as much for an apparently similar TX.

Well one point is, would you give up a big part of your flying season to ship it back to Hong Kong to get it repaired or to get a part?

Even if they would repair it my guess is shipping round trip could be month. Ijust bought a charger. Took 2 weeks one way. Hope it never fails. And yes it was a bargin. Ineeded a charge adapter....wait is one month. Still a bargin.

Upfront costs are not the total flying experience. I am a guy who keeps two Tx and five airplanes at the ready so I can fly when the weather is good. $100 "savings" is meaningless in the big picture of RC life.

If you buy a good name brand TX for $150 and fly it for 5 years it cost you $30 a year. Probaby less since if you are like me you can sell it on Ebay for $50 when you get a new one.

And if you need it fixed, Hitec will answer your email in one day and fix it in one week for a low price.

And no Idon't have a house full of 20 year old RC history (aka junk).

That works for me.

I will assume it is just as good as any other TX unless some kind of proof it isn't is provided.

That assumes that both will break/fail.
I have quite a few Futabas and even cheap 4ch radios (even a Wakera!) that have run flawlessly for years. Are you saying that the Aurora will probably fall apart? and attribute HiTec's poor quality to this $100 TX?
So you are willing to pay an extra $300 to get it back sooner when it breaks, as opposed to saving $300 and buying a new one on the slim chance it breaks which will still put you $200 ahead.
Not getting the logic here.
I will sell you a Turnigy 9X with a one year guarantee and fast replacement (shipped from USA) if it is defective for $250. You get all the benefits you mention and you still save money.

Hey, Isupport that approach. He should buy one, brag about it at the field, show those A9 and 12x guys what a real system can do and start a new thread: Life with my Hong Dung System.

Mean time Iwill enjoy my Hitec Auroa 9 that is both "better and more"!

There are YouTube vids of the Turnigy 9x showing some real issues not to mention it seriously looks like it is worth under $100. Not a flame just the truth. Sorry

Links would be appreciated. Thanks for the real input Ron. I should have known that a WWI flier would be one of the few to be a gentleman.

Since all the others can do is bash, I assume they are just into spending money to prove they are better than everyone else.
"All mouth and no brains" as my dad used to say.

I also love that the HiTec is made in the Philippines and not China, such a big difference.[]
