Im assuming more peps are available on the weekend....but im also available during the week...i may not have access to a vehicle during the week days tho.

I would like to explore more of the spot in back of bjs...from what we've seen so far its a great bash spot. But im also down for checking other spots. The Spot E-MaXX360 goes to looks awesome....look like TONS of FUN!

Type Erskine St. into google maps. Its only one exit out of Queens on the belt.

I have a bunch of RC's, but I don't have too much off-road stuff. I recently sold my Savage. I have mostly on-road stuff now.

If I came out and bashed, I would bring my Tamiya rally car and possibly my HPI Super Nitro RS4 Rally.

I don't really like the idea of sand.

Yes I don't blame you, I dont think a rally car would survive back there. Actually the ''queens spot'' mentioned in paqge 3 might be good, it has two baseball diamonds. Its in Broad Chanel

Maybe I will just stay local and hope I run into other people with RC's at the various spots I know by me.

just ordered my parts...new engine and clutch shoes....might as well change them now.

I should be all set for this Sunday...I HOPE!

lets see how many peps we get...then decide on a place to bash. Ill say either the spot behind bjs (Gateway Mall) or EMaXX360 Long Island spot. Seems like the Gateway Mall is a lil closer for most....but the Long Island Spot looks SWEEET for bashing....

8/12/2012, is that a good date for everyone? Enough time to prep your trucks and bajas*↠(those things are always ready). Probably should also pickup a Outer Motor Saver Filter to protect against any sand.

Hey all, hope you got out today to the area behind BJ's. Great day for it today.
I recently sold my HPI MT2 G3.0 and shipped it off and am awaiting my MGT 8.0 (Should have it tomorrow.)

I was just looking over some areas around near me in Brooklyn. Anyone here familar with Gerritsen ave, in the Gerritsen beach section? There is a huge area off the ave where motocross and quads run, huge track. There is also an RC flying field back there as well with a moderatley sized asphalt strip and taxiing areas.

I parked on Gerritsen and Gotham (parking is very easy) and walked up a path near one of the baseball fields. I think it took about 5-7 minutes to walk in from the street to the tracks. The area looks very promising with mostly packed dirt and some areas of looser sand. There are lots of bumps in the track although hard to tell from the images that would certainly get a vehicle airborn at about 25-30 mph. The narrow sections are about 15ft wide while the openings are about 40-50 ft.

The area is public access and legal and not seen from the street at all. I was there on Sunday afternoon and did not see one biker or quad not did I hear any around. I don't think it would be a problem anyway since there is so much track area for them and if we did hear anything we could pull the trucks over. They would see us too in advance. IO don't see that being a problem. There are other areas here i have not checked out yet such as channel ave behind the school where there looks to be a very large open dirt area from the satelite view.

Satelite view of location

close enough

In all honesty, the spot behind BJ is great, but I much prefer dirt to sand. Sand gets everywhere and takes a toll on the cars too. Plus you can do donuts or drifts on sand, which is great fun! I also have a 1/16 truck but I wouldn't take it back there simply because its much more complex and the parts are so small to tear down and clean sand out of.

Plus the sand ruined your whole engine in 2min flat!!

I am down to meet up and bash, but I also would prefer a dirt layout instead of sand.
