NEW YORK CITY BASH

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
No prob, another time. I just got back, stayed till bout 1:30. Feels good to have the truck running well. I still have it slightly on the rich side, but it does pop some impressive wheelies lol. The soft suspension and soft rubber are terrible on the pavement though.
There was some dirt area off the pavement and the setup seems very good on that.
If anyone is down, I'd like to head over to the Gerritsen Beach spot during the week sometime, There is some sand, but lots of packed areas too. More rolling bumps and rough terrain than appears in the photos. Let me know if anyones interested.

Yea, just ordered some new gears I should get in tues or wed. I switched from 48 pitch to 32 pitch (mod. 8) so hopefully they wont be affected by sand or strip out. I'm interested in seeing that spot you found in FBF too, I could use the gears I have right now too.

Had a cool time out with Joe running at FBF. Got my Big Joe's on the truck but man do they eat up engine power... Look great and handle better (less flipping because of the wide stance) These would be great in snow or sand too...their like snow shoes.
Joe brought his ramp, but we really need two or three to place them together. My truck is about as wide as the ramp so setting up for a jump was very challenging.
This is a good place to meet up for some quick bashing. There is a small dirt area that we were running in, then there is endless flat pavement and a bunch of gravel and dirt mounds from some construction going on.
I'm going out again tomorrow, weather permitting about 11:30 - 2 Hopefully Joe and some others can make it out.

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Had a lot of fun today at FBF with Gary. He found a sweet spot with a little bit of everything, big pavement area, dirt, mounds to jump ect.. Best part was that we could pull up and run right out of our cars. Also no one bothered us at all, a construction guy even gave us a thumbs up

I'm down for this weekend. Actually now that I think about it, Sunday might not be good for you to check out the track at FBF. I think they have their "official" races on Sundays, not sure though.

Hmm dont know but the owner* is away for GLC 2012, so Sunday might still be possible. plus i kinda fear that track, locked up brakes one day and slid strait into the wall wheel went flying.
A guy with a touring-car was surprised how well it handled.
So sunday at 11:00am at fbf or if you have another place in mind?

I think i will be out at FBF this Sunday from bout 11-3. Not the track, the bashing spot shown in the pics that Joe posted on 8/14/12.
Got the RPMaxle carriersand the Integy 6mm offset 17mm hubs which look to be very nicely made and fit perfectly. The big joes look and feelreal solid on this set up now. Real test will be bashing it.
See ya'll there Sunday
BTW Joe, the Yeah Racing motor heat sink fits perfectly on my sons Stampede. Looks real nice too.

@Gary, cool the heat sink fits, I got an aluminum gear box, which should act as a big heat sink. Have the dirt jumps you built held up? Maybe we can make some more/bigger ones? With a bunch of people it should be quick, I'll bring a shovel too. Maybe make a mini track

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Actually i think we are over here on this road, in Blue. Not a problem because as long as anyone drives up near the center where the roads meet there are orange cones all around and we will be easy to find.
Joe, that tranny case looked good. It should act as a big heat sink. Got it yet?

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Not sure what happened today, only me and Gary showed up. We stayed about an hour or so at FBF then went to go check out his spot in Gerritsen, here's a short video of the spot. I wish I could drive and film at the same time, but I can't.

ALSO, emaxx, maybe some of us can make it out to your spot on Thursday?
