replacing pull start with electric start

Default replacing pull start with electric start

can anyone tell me if i use a electric start(flywheel starter).....do i need to remove the pull start??????the reason i ask is i have removed the pull start and just replaced the cover...and my car wont start .....does the shaft for pull start add some compression...im a newbie and would thankful for any advice...thanx

Yes, you need to put the whole pull start back on for the engine to start, if you have taken out the shaft you have compression but air will be sucked in thru the hole left by the shaft instead of the carb so no fuel will be delivered.
