Default Pullstart Problem

Hey guys for some reason my pullstart on my .15 Nitro Star FE started getting stuck. When i try starting the engine with the glow ignitor in, the pullstart doesnt reel itself back in unless i pull at back even farther. Then, for some reason, it got REALLY stuck. It coulndt go any further and when i tried reeling it back in by turning the flywheel, i heard the spring in the pullstart get messed up or something. So i took it apart and fixed it perfectly and put it back togethor and put it back on my car and i still had the same problem. So i just took my pullstart off my .12 Nitro Star FE which fit perfectly on to the .15. it was working fine until the SAME THING HAPPENED! Does anybody know why its doing this? and do i need a new pullstart or what? Thats all, Thnx.

Default RE: Pullstart Problem

iv had mine apart before i doubt you need to get a new one unless the spring in the pullstart is actually broke i had a similar sort of problem where it wouldnt reall the cable all the way back in, all i did was take the pullstart off, take the back plate off it (REALLY CAREFULLY) and tightened the spring up a couple of turns, seemed to do the trick, i say REALLY CAREFULLY cause if the spring pops out it will take your forever to get it back in LOL, trust me i know, took me like 2 hours to get the damn thing back in when i did it rofl, but yeh i would say unless the spring in there is actually broken, fixin it shouldnt be a problem, do you know how pullstarts work yeh?
