Is it possible to fit a bigger carb to an HPI .15FE apart from the official HPI upgrade carb 5.5mm?
Many would say..don`t bother get another engine...but I`m just interested in the mod!

I think 5.5mm is the legal limit, so im pretty sure most manufacturers go by those limits...

Thks guys for ur input...
Agreed the fitting for the FE carb is different from most other manufactuers, kyosho makes similar ones it seems.
The whole idea is just for tinkering in my workshop thats all.
A new engine would be the best option and locally the new LRP nitros are hot both for performance as well as value for money!!

Bigger carb doesnt automaticly mean more power or rpm. The intake airspeed will drop drasticly, which will get you into mixture problems of all sorts...

I got the option carb for my 15fe and in combination with a high flow air filter, header and Cevec pipe, it was easy to tune and the thing actually runs really good. I 'm running good engine temps and getting some good speed from the little old stock motor. No reason to throw it out just yet. I'll run it till it's worn out and replace it with an 18 of some sort

Thks for your input TNRC,
I have already installed a high flow air filter, header and pipe...the carb would be next...TRUE I agree also with you since my FE has not given me any trouble (unlike loads of other threads I've read) would not just dump it for another engine as yet!!
