RE: Offical nitro tc3 thread
Now for a question of my own. I am putting a new .12 in my NTC3 and want to use my stock .15 (from the Plus) for another project. How do I disassemble the clutch? I must be missing it in the manuals and guide if it's there.
Any tips or links would be great.

its simple take everything off until you are down to the crank shaft which you won't be able to revmove then put it exacly back on the .12 make sure u take note of the clutch shoe directon and also you can take the spring off with a pair of needle noses and there should be a eclip or a screw holding the clutch onto the crankshaft

What are the best gears to have for racing on a small parking lot track?
What are the best gears to have for racing on a small parking lot track?
Her you go.
What combo of pinion and spur gears can be used in the 2 speed to have the right gear mesh?
21/25 with 54/50 = 2.57/1 2.00/1
22/26 with 54/50 = 2.45/1 1.93/1 (stock in kit)
23/27 with 54/50 = 2.34/1 1.85/1
20/26 with 54/48 = 2.70/1 1.93/1
21/27 with 54/48 = 2.57/1 1.77/1
There are more pinion/spur gear combinations with the right mesh. They are:
20/22 with 52/50 = 2.60/1 2.27/1 (Use this combination for a small track.)
21/23 with 52/50 = 2.47/1 2.17/1
22/24 with 52/50 = 2.36/1 2.08/1
23/25 with 52/50 = 2.26/1 2.00/1
24/26 with 52/50 = 2.16/1 1.92/1
25/27 with 52/50 = 2.08/1 1.85/1
But these have less difference in speed and acceleration than the others earlier posted. This kind of combination could be very useful in small and tight tracks, where you usually run your car with single speed gearbox instead of a two-speed gearbox.

The shoes are hinged on posts on the flywheel and till I remove the springs and shoes I can't turn the nut. I have the downloadable NTC3 guide, my manual and nothing seems to cover the removal of a clutch. [:@] Maybe it's easier than my feeble mind is making it out to be but I am stumped outside of cutting the springs with edge cutters! [X(]

U wont damage the clutch shoes just grab one end of the spring and pull it out the springs then return to normal
yes you can ajust the 2 speed there are 2 screws that you will see as the car rolls you have to align the hole in the two speed housing with the screw that sits on on the side of the two speed there will be two that you have to ajust don't lossen the larger siver ones

I actually got help taking the clutch off. My LHS showed me this hook tool which you can use. The plier thing just wouldn't have worked because the RTR comes with a 2-shoe and you'd need tiny needle nose pliers.
But hey, you learn something new everyday.
Thanks for all the advice guys!

RE: Offical nitro tc3 thread
What temp are you guys running your engines at?
Also are the front/rear diffs ball diffs or are they just gears.
I have the RTR plus. What parts would I need to turn it into the team version? I can't find a list of the differences any where. Thanks.

Can someone answer my question???
I know it’s crazy but just wanted to know if it could be done.

Dude, do you have the roto start already? try it out yourself! I would imagine it would work, aslong as the roto start screwed onto the engine properly and you could get the little shaft to it from the back of the car...but i dunno.
As far as the temp thing goes... have the old AE .12 engine and am curious about temps also. 220F good?....Thanks in advance.

Has any seen this engine from Associated? It comes out this month and runs for $209.
Do you think it would be a good engine for the ntc3?
