Why don't you change the centre diff oil ?
Do you know what the standard weight in the centre diff is ?

What would be a recommended clutch spring for road racing? A firm or soft spring?

If you're using the factory 2 pin flywheel, just get the Kyosho optional KC45 clutch. It is made of a black carbon plastic material. Lets the engine spool a little higher because it weighs less than the stock aluminum and the spring that comes with is will last a long time.

I raced the IGT1 & IGT2 versions with it and it works very well with stock or slightly hi-hp type engines. Very smooth and consistant on the tracks.

Good luck.

In that case, maybe try the Kyosho black carbon shoes with the 1.0 springs.
If your car's traction can handle the torque of the .32, then maybe the 1.1 springs.

If the .32 is hard to handle on the track, back up to the .95 or .90 springs and try some Ipanema Slicks to get the power to the road too.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the help JSpeed. Any chance you may know of any companies that make bodies for the Inferno GT2? I tried the proto form body but it's for a GT and I have been told that Fioroni has been sold.... So fun trying to find bodies for my car

Does this car have a weird, Kyosho-only engine mount like the FW-05/06? Or is it normal so you can run other engines without needing to mod or buy a special mount?

Also, the 2-speed is really that bad?

The engine mount works with any engine. I run an Axial .32 in mine with no problems as for the 2 speed it's not that bad althought I do replace the second gear every once in a while

You might want to try one of these on for size.

Nice body. Thanks JSpeed. Is it possible to mod an Inferno Gt2 to do 100MPH+?

Thanks, making a new body is a labor of love, we hope all will want one too.

To go over or near 100mph is very hard, maybe with the new generation of brushless electrics.
There are a few videos on youtube with cars that run over the 100mph mark, all are electric.
The only problem with electric is run-time vs. nitro, nitro still has it beat.

I was hoping to do it nitro style . Is it hard to get those bodies in Canada? I see it's an Ipanema product, do you know the major differences between the 2 speed tranny they make that fits the IGT2 and the stock IGT2 tranny?

Hello everyone. I bout a inferno gt with a picco 28. Runs great and fires up fast , this thing is fast and its a lot bigger than the hpi rs4 evo 3 i used to have. I do have a problem here, if you look at the pics i uploaded, you can see that the clutch and gears dont match up correctly. is this how its sopposed to be with this engine? once accelerating hard i striped the spur gear and i dont want that to happend, plus i dont think it runs at its full potential like this. Anyone knows how to fix this problem? i have the motor slid forward as far as it will go. Any kits out there made specially for this motor conversion? thanks.

I can't see the fly wheel but the Kyosho fly wheel has a bit of a spacer on it then the clutch shoe pins so that the gears line up. I would check the fly wheel and since it's a picco motor I am almost 100% positive it's the fly wheel. Can ya get a pic of that ?

yeah take a better pic of the flywheel and the whole setup. also make sure the engine and trans are bolted to the original holes on the chassis.

that looks like the hpi clutch bell. if so, you will need to get shims or (copper bushings) to make them fit.

Here is a pic of the flywheels. on the left is the one that is installed on it, and on the right the kyosho flywheel that was on the original motor. Yeah i put the new flywheel and clutch on just for try and they line up perfect. But the kyosho flywheel pins broke while i was removing it . The pilot shaft on the picco is not long enough to put the kyosho flywheel and the clutch nut. which flywheel and clutchbell do you guys that have the picco 28 use? You have like a part number for those parts. I am using the stock holes for the motor on the bottom. thanks.

Ok thanks for the help. I messed around a bit with the flywheel and got it to fit with a few washers between the engine and flywheel. Its dark here now so tomorrow hopefully i can run it and see how it works. Removed one of the bearings on the clutch bell. spins freely, and doesnt come out. Hopefully it works

Here's a few pictures of the Ipanema "Warrior" universal GT car body that fits both the IGT1 & IGT2 chassis.
Its designed to offer higher top speeds, greater control and proven to win.

Current GT Spec Class World Champion, Paul Roberts of Max Velocity trusts the Ipanema Warrior to stay in front of the pack.

Oh and sweet body JSpeed!
