RE: GOING FOR 100MPH OR DIE TRYING.......
Have you considered going electric? Just drop in a big brushless motor and the right battery pack and you will have more power than you could ever use. It might be tough to make the batteries fit nicely on a nitro chassis though.
Here's the vid of the 134mph 10th scale electric tc3 touring car.

Maybe this guy wants more of a challenge which is why he picked nitro. Not hat much of a challenge with electrics to go fast bump up the batteries, speed control, motor etc, etc. Real men run nitro

Props to the mighty Serpent King!! Took your advice on what to do to a Fusion belt and pullies and man what a difference that made in the rate of acceleration !! I have the topend speed cluthbell on and the track where I have been running at is small so the fusion would never shift into 3rd, guess what it does now!! Worked like a charm.

honestly miami, ur out of your mind. If a 1/8 onroad with a .21 could only reach 75 tops, how do u expect less competitive hpi to do 100.

Hey guys what's new? I've been off the forums for a while and good to see the project is coming along nicely. Hopefully everything works great.

Nitrohead, glad to hear that the lil trick worked for you. Its just one of the tricks thats used to make the cars we make. I owned a fusion a while ago. As a matter of fact, it was one of my first fast nitro experiments but I couldnt get what I wanted. Anyways, glad to hear youre doing good on the track.
Ferrari, here are some of the differences. 1/8 scale cars are heavier than what we run. My Racer2 weighs just over 3Lbs. Another thing is the gear ratio thats run in these cars are just under 2to1. My clutchbell alone is a 26 tooth with a 36 tooth spur. The average 1/8 scale has a 20 pinion with a 44 spur. Add those numbers up and just go up from the 75 youre saying and you will see how we can get well into the high 90s. Same thing with the buggies. My buggy has a 25 tooth CB with a 36 (soon to be 34 spur). All of these are custom mounted and work very well. And with the power or a nice high reving 28 motor such as a rossi 528 or an RB 928, more than 65 out of a buggy is more than capable. Please watch some of the videos that have been posted by some of my counterparts and myself and then get back to me.

Please someone answer my question. What wheels are those? They are so nice.

i have no idea who makes these wheels i could only find them on ebay what i would type in the search was "SUPER NITRO" these are super size 1/10 wheels that where made for the HPI super nitro and kyosho Super ten (they are alot taller than normal 1/10 wheels) but the cars are discontunued and i guess the wheels are too.........i did a few ebay searches before posting this comment but from what i can see they no longer sell them.............the only seller that would sell them was DINBALL/RCMART if anything email him and ask him what happen to the super nitro foam wheels.........i bought these 2 months ago maybe they still have some in stock

with a 2:1 ratio, is it slow off the line? how long does it take to get to speed?

Yeah, rained all day here too. Wanted to try the mods I made on my RS4 3 18ss. I've got a Super Nitro on the way I was wondering do you guys run thoughs 100mph beasts at the track in Homestead. I think it's cool what your doing, keep it up. One of these days I may attempt this. You think a Ft.Lauderdale guy can join in the fun?

Yea sure!!!
but no we dont run these cars at the homestead track they are to fast and with the gear we run wed get lapped by a nice set up serpent about 6 times before we can even complete one lap.....

Race! no Though I have run there before, and watched races there. Right now I'm building a new boat and repairing an old one.[] Haven't put anything on the lake in about a month. If the rain lets up I might this weekend. Usually I run my boats a little closer to home.

are you gonna try to make the chassis lighter with carbon fiber or is it better to have a little weight holding it down? hm, it would look great with CF.

RE: GOING FOR 100MPH OR DIE TRYING.......
No carbonfiber chassis on nitro cars. The heat from the engine has to go somewhere else besides the head and the chassis is where its going to go. Some of the cars are light enough already, so we run with a lot of room but there is the "runway" and then there is the "stopway". I need just as much room to get the car to speed as I need to get it to stop. I tried running and locking the break and the car gets sideways because of the tall skinny wheels, air get in the body, and now we have 4 wheel, onroad aircrafts. Estimating total distance, I think I run about a max of 500 feet.
Byron, You can come down and join in the fun. We actually run about 1/2 mile from the golden glades interchange, so its not hard to find. Let me know if you wanna come down and I'll give you directions. We only run on Sundays but Sundays seem to be the only day that we've been getting a break from the rain.

Are you going to build an undertray for the car so that there is as little drag as possible on the inside of the body. Someone with a high speed EP with a Corvette shell made one of those out of CF. It also helped reduce drag on the underside of the chassis, as it was basically a flat CF sheet all the way across, with wheel holes D:
Mind you, if you don't have enough downforce I guess you might take off a bit (read: lot) if you hit a tiny bump even D:
