Default What's a good Intermediate/Expert car to start off with???

This is my first post in this forum and I'de like to say "whats up" to everyone!

Okay, here goes... In the past i've owned a Tamiya (can't remember what model frame it was;must of been a TA04 chassis electric, the one with the Porche GT3 body, black). But Now, i'm looking to get an Intermediate to Expert(competition) Nitro car, now i'm not too sure which one to get.

I'm a very Mechanically inclined type of person so, everything about the car I would be able to pick up very fast. I wanna be able to compete with the car later on without having to buy another one. My price range for the CAR would be between $500 - $700 canadian. I want a good radio, but I could wait for that...

Any suggestions???
Thanks in advance...

Hi and wellcome! It would help if you could inform me of your budget in euros but by making a very first estimation I'd say go for any version of V-one RRR depending on your money. NT1 is also a magnificent machine. If these two get out of your budget limitations, go for FW-RR or buy a 18ss or NTC3 and use the rest of your money to get improvement parts and modify the car.

yeah, because if u buy a competition kit, u still need a decent engine, pipe, radio, etc.

Wow... Thanks for the replies!!! Didn't think anyone would just because this question would have been asked millions of times before.

Anyway!!!

I was looking to just get a 18SS but wouldn't that count as an outlaw class car??? or an RTR NITRO RS4 3 and just upgrade it... what do you guys think of those models?

Yeah I've read about nitro tc3 team kit, apparently that would be a very good choice as well... Do any of you have the NTC3 Team Kit???

Again thanks for the replies... Sorry I didn't get to reply right away as i'm renovating my upstairs bathroom and I just finished today!!!

yep, 18s are outlaws. which is a great class for RS4's because they need the extra power. If u want however, u can just buy a .12 to race normally

Very nice car. Also with tuning potential but not with an outlaw engine out of the box. For sure better than RS4 EVO.
