RS4 2 Questions: Speed, Tire Inserts and Shock Oil
I obtained a used RS4 2 RTR three years ago, but it's seen little use since then, unfortunately. It's got some carbon fiber and aluminum hop-ups, along with the 2-speed and an HPI .12SS engine. It's a ton of fun, but off-road RC takes up most of my available time.
Anyway, I'm trying to get it cleaned up and back on the road and I'm looking for some advice.
First, for someone just playing around in the street and parking lots (zero track time), what weight shock oil would you recommend?
Second, what can I do to increase my top-speed? I mean, the gearing options seem pretty limited, I'm already running the 13/20 bell and 37/44 spurs. Are taller gears available? The engine pulls my current gearing quite well, so I'd like to step it up a bit, even to the point of dropping in a stronger engine if more gear is available. The car's highest radared speed has been 47mph.
Third, I bought new HPI wheels and tires, but the foams are angle-cut; something I'm not familiar with! Do I need to glue the ends together? If so, what glue do I used and how do I avoid ending up with a hard spot where the glue is? Here's what the foams look like:

No glueing necessary? Sounds great! Thanks a lot. I suppose they're cut at an angle to make the seam less pronounced along the tread, right?

I'd reccomend you to glue them or stipe them up with tape. While wheels spin foam will move and your tyre will loose balance.
