You can also re-drill your motor mount holes through the aluminum chassis if needed (left or right).

Just don't get too close to the pulleys or the fiber disk brake (make sure they don't conflict).
You can actually get pretty close.

I'd say that's risky...I'd never put my chasis under dangerous rigidity tests...

Can you use an rs4 3 clutch gears in a super nitro rs4 2? I didn't think the were interchangeable. If so please let me know how.

Yes, the RS4 3 gears are the same pitch and work with the RS4 Super Nitro & RS4 Racer 2, two speed tranny.
Thanks to Got to 100 for that helpful bit of advice.

You will need to purchase the RS4 3 clutchbell, bearings, etc. I recommend printing out the RS4 3 clutchbell assembly from the HPI site and making a plan for the parts you will need to complete because depending on the length of the SG shaft, you will need to find the right flywheel, clutch, nut shaft extenstions, spacers, etc.
But don't let the spacing get you down, its all within the realm of figuring out.

The red 23T gear is the tallest pinion you can get for the RS4 3.

Here is the combination that gives you the tallest gearing and still allows good mesh betwen 1st & second gears.
1st: 18T pinion (gold RS4 3) /43T spur (RS4 2 & Super Nitro)
2ns: 23T pinion(red RS4 3)) /37T spur (RS4 2 & Super Nitro)

Don't settle for the clutchbell with 1st & 2nd pinion welded into one that's provided as standard with the Super Nitro & RS4 2 two speed tranny.

Hey Ferrarimk13, how fast is your RS4 with that motor? I was thinking of getting one for my RS4 3 Evo

With the stock gearing top speed is the same as uning the 18ss engine but acceleration is better.

its alittle under 60 id say, maybe 58, but it gets there instantly, and revvs pretty high, i like it, but break in is a pain, theres so much compression.
