go with the hpi 18 ss. you get the satisfaction of building something yourself and you get a good understanding of how the car works. It's faster than the evo, and stronger then the ct5 from what i've heard

18ss with the stage-D conversion set is a much better drifter than ntc3. 18ss has a more powerfull engine than the ntc3. But ntc3 has more toe in options.

oh ok but the rs4 18ss+ doesnt come with radio and electronics but the ntc3 does and the 18ss is only $50 dollars cheaper which means i would be paying $550-600 all up for the 18ss is it worth it? or is there another better kit car with a radio or a RTR thats better for that money, oh also its australian dollars

Yes but stage-D kit makes it even easier for RS4, right?

If you are going to start off modifications right away, get the evo. As for drifting, I would still get the evo. The evo has lower gears in the diffs, and makes breaking the tires loose easier. Better to get the radio and servos (not the best I know) and save some green for those hop-ups that you know you're going to buy. If a better engine is your concern, get a gently used one. Save some cash there too. The 15 in the evo will drift just fine though. My $0.02.

I still insist on the 18ss...except if building a kit is something you want to avoid...

so over all what do you think?? is the rs4 3 18ss+ alot better than the evo+ or what?? because the evo is a RTR with radio and the 18ss is a kit with no radio or servos so they will cost $150 more to make the 18ss $590 and the evo+ will cost $500 with radio, what is the best way to go or is there a RTR car out there better than the evo+ and the 18ss+ with more upgrades??

Ntc3 is something between them...but the Radio that you'll get for the 18ss will be an intermediate one wich means a GREAT investment for any other car you may get. I'd go for the 18ss with the Sanwa MX3 radio if I was you (since I prefer stick type I got the Gemini II wich was the same software on).

Get a futaba 3pm if you can. And if you can afford it, get one really high spec servo for the steering, Futaba S9451 if possible, it makes a huge difference to the way a car drives over cheap servos.

Yeap but for starting, the sanwa servos of the MX3 are the fastest "stock" out there.

I would look into the NTC3 for the easy maintenance. If you get the HPI look into the Futaba Fast radio system. It is 2.4 DSM, and only a little more on price than the MX3.

I thing you're a gifted young man and you've managed to learn how to build a kit realy fast...but never let your enthusiasm make you to hurry more than you should.
