Thanks. No I have not had a chance to run it yet. I'm still waiting on a few parts (air filter bumper etc).

Those fronts are terrifyingly thin I think there going to be more of a hassle than benifit take at least a thicker set of tires on your run day, lemme ask you why do you stick with so much heavy steal if you obvesly have access to machining tools youncould have built the whole car from a carbon fiber chassis and carbon fiber upper deck the whole way thru???? You would have has 1/4 the weight and twice the stiffness...... I see the chassis flex being a huge issue here......

Make sure you get 2 real passes this time with the car not that one BS pass you did with the rocket car

Got that Picco .28 converted Cen ct5 all broken in and up and running. Tom, you were definitely right about those small tires! I cant even control the thing at half throttle! Will be looking to upgrade the tires asap. Maybe attempt a 1/8 conversion but need to look into the details a little more for that.

Any suggestion?

Jesse

As its 2wd rear the chassis flex is waht keeps the car in a straight line. If it was stiff it wouldnt work.

The chassis is aluminium and very light. The whole car is 2.3kg so not far off a 1/8 circuit car. No time to test before the event

I'll post any results here

Cheers

............Check with Kamakaze hobbies they sell 44mm wide rear tires for 1/10 scale cars they fit any car that takes a standard wheel hex, without any adapters. I believe RC Market sell the same tire too. Here is a link to Kamakaze http://www.kamikazercracing.com/prod...rod=MX10P37GPR

I couldn't find anywhere in the usa that sells those wide tires(or in stock....ever!!). i researched where  i could get some..they sell them in japan...i emailed them..this is what i got in return..:

Both are our estimates if you pay it through paypal.

About the shipping method, you can choose either ways that are by regular Airmail Small Packet or by EMS.

By regular Airmail Small Packet doesn't have any tracking number and can not track the package.

Also, this way doesn't have any compensation and arriving term may take a longer than EMS way.

EMS way

Hey guys a French company name Motonica has a new designed pan car that is light weight with a tunable flex chassis. These cars are just a couple of seconds slower than their 1/8 scale 4wd onroad cousins using sport .21 motors. These car can run on slightly bumpy surfaces but prefer smooth treated surfaces. And they cost less that 1/8 scale 4wd onroad cars Here is a link to the 2009 championship. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRXze...eature=related

That is amazing that a pan car without a shock based suspension system can be that fast and handle that well on a road course.

There's no 2speed on the market that will get the gear ratio any higher needed to go faster, if a 2speed was installed the cars would actually be slower. Besides look at the street we are using right now it's pretty short anyways there isn't room for a higher top end as there is no braking room.

Am I missing something? The fastest top speed is what your after right? The engine topped out as it came off the toque curve so another gear would give it extra top speed. Plus as Miami pointed out you would need another few hundred feet of road

Cheers
