Yeah I know a guy who has a modified V1RRR with a .21 in it and it has been radared over 100mph. I think this guy is looking for something that is fast out of the box stock.
Not necessarily, fast out of the box would be a plus, but I have no problems with building a car!
I just wanted the easy way out to win races!! LOL (but who doesn't?)

For one the... I have a 18tz And I cant really take that engine to full WOT. And BTw the 18tz is a small block thats why it doesn't take much for installtion.

ALSo the Hpi On and Off road cars the parts are much more availble compared to basically any brand.
True on the Hpi parts availability. When i had my RS4 w/ TZ mill I ended up changed to only foams and rarely made full use of the power on tap. But the car seems too heavy to reach 100Mph easy. I feel that a bigger car with be a better choice for higher speeds.

Take a brushless converted OFNA DM-ONE. **IVE NEVER SEEN ONE HIT 100*** but this seems like it would be a worthy project. Add in a 1/8 BL and some "high ampage" Lipo's you should be good to go
Other then that something like a high-end model. Xray, Teammagic, Kyosho etc. only thing is these are not always easy to get parts for. And if you want High speeds... you'll need parts.

I keep leaning tords electrics simply being they can be made to be MUCH lighter then nitro's and can produce more power

Or you can just buy and build one of [link=http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi?session_id=&part_id=2148]these[/link]

and are cleaner and quieter!!
electric would be cool, the problem with electric cars, when I look at them for some reason they seem as if they are built not as tough as the nitro counter parts!! (wouldn't know for sure never had an electric street car)

Nitro cars have more Potential For Fun IMo. IF you want a project... Get a Rs4 2 And Put in a .21 And Set your aim For 100mph.

You would either have to mod a chassis to fit a BB engine or find a RS4 BB conversion kit. Then find the tallest gearing ratio possible.
Im not saying is ISN'T possible but it WOULD be a project. Other wise finding a car that is fast outta the box is simple and maybe cheaper way to go IMO[:-]

Yeah I saw that, any chance I can put in the os 30 vg or something like that, then put really high gears?

You can do it easy with an RS4 evo w/stock chassis and $10 mounts. Check out this thread of guys running BB's in 1/10 scale cars. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8246301/tm.htm

Here is my RS4 evo3 with a modded Picco P9R .21. Expect 75mph or so on stock gearing, faster with taller gearing and distance. I hits that speed in a hurry....but the RS4 evo3 is really not built to handle that power in stock form.

Me too Fudge!!! LMAO... The fact that he has to come from behind says everything, but I will give him another pic of just what he can expect to see. To bad he won't get close enough to read the Lamborghini sticker on my rear! LOL

hey nitro revo,
have you ran the car yet? or the better question would be have you had the thing speed tested?
Just wondering how close you were to your predictions!!
That last few cars I built, I always though the car would go faster than it actually did by like 5 to 15 mph!!

Yeah Fudge, I tested it on the track w/Portatree and Bushnell Radar in the parking lot. The P9R is modded by AB mods and has the HP/RPM to push the car to mid to high 70's for sure. After that you need taller gearing and distance.

The problem is the stock RS4 drive train can't handle the power for more than a pass or two, so testing got expensive. I was snapping dogbones and axles at 68-70mph in about 150-175ft or so. I added heavy duty steel CVD's but have not tested it yet. My first time on the track for me and the car, it ran 2.4 @ like 56 or 57mph easy in 132' starting off in 2nd gear w/the tallest HPI pinions and spurs during test-n-tune. It could run 2.2's or better @60mph or so w/a little work.

NICE
I think I may actually build one of these then instead of just buying one!! But I have to finish my crawler project first (cause once you get too many projects going NOTHING gets done)!!

i got my rs4 3 evo+ today and i love the car. when i was at the hobby shop he opend the box to te 4-tec and i just didnt like how it looked. to me it looked like cheap plastic and he was telling me there are not alot of hopups for it compared to the rs4. either way i was gettign the rs4 i just wanted to see the 4tec for myself. im happy with my purchase.

you are right the RS4 has more hop ups!!
But I think the 4-Tec can handle the speed a little better, and (at least from my point of view) seems to be built to better take the power!!

The 4tec is faster out of the box, but that's all it has on the RS4. The RS4 handles way better and the shaft drive is much better for parking lot raceing/bashing. The RS4 handles the power of my modded O.S. 21TM no problem. No 1/10 scale can handle a BB .21 without some mods.

I know the .21 is a big block!!
But I heard that the belt drive cars, give a little on starts, and the belts absord some of the torque, giving you more controlled launches!, while shaft drive cars do not! (wouldn't you want that for a 100 mph car? so it's semi controllable?)

Well a lambo will beat a subie!! (unless the subie has major work done to it)
But hey have you had your car clocked to see how fast it is?

Also to everyone in general, would making the car rear wheel drive, make it faster?
I was thinking that should have less rotational resistance, and be a few grams lighter!
