it's not a speed record if it's a rocket , apples and oranges .

you had me excited that someone had finally brocen 150 with an rc car , all you did was shoot an estes rocket horizontally , i sure wish i could rate your post negative 5 for wasting my time !

Forget all your other "ideas" CRAWL BEFORE YOU CAN WALK. Take your car out ASAP make a second pass CONFIRM this run before you even try to make faster runs that no one will wanna belive.

You do relize that everyone who is familiar with high speed set ups don't belive for a second your speed was accurate, forget all your future plans take your car out NOW AS IS and just run 160+ again its as simple as that......Its either that or forever be known as the guy who makes up his own rules and CHEATS his way to the top......

I personally em NOT IMPRESSED with a rocket in a car, the fact you made your own rocket isn't anything new either you did not reinvent the wheel. You keep saying
Ofcourse no one is doing that it's stupid, everyone know's rockets are fast even model rockets take off at what 250+MPH??? depending on the caliber of the motors ect?? The fact you put one in a car is nothing out of this world and honestly i don't know how you have the morals to even try it, you crashed your car at suppostly 160 something mph?? do you relize you could kill a good amount of people with your little rocket car??? maybe thats why no one is building them??? maybe becuase the safety is important???

Can you image a rocket car packing 1,100 PSI of NOS behind it hiting a wall they same way the electric car did??? it would be a BOMB.........this is why hundrerds of people ARE NOT GOING THAT ROUTE.

You try'd a million times to get your nitro car to make all these fantastic fantasy speeds and never pulled them off, as far as im concered you took the easy way out with the rocket car.

i guess you didn't read any of the thread .. the audio portion of the videos that "rocket boy" posted (twice) contains f-words etc .

just google "not a world record rc car" or "who cares , it's a rocket car" and you should find it

I shouldn't have to read the whole thread....but ended up doing so anyway.

IT looks like they made an edit and had a video without sounds...and it was "modded" anyway.

The guy should be able to have the video on this thread. I don't see what the big deal is.

Honestly dude, what you did with your car is pretty sweet. You're being creative and I respect that.

The thing is, when someone opens a thread titled "new worlds record for RC car 163.51 mph" in the onroad nitro forum, the readers automatically expect that it is a car running on motor. Your car runs on rocket power, not even in the same ball park as a vehicle in which the power is delivered through to the wheels.

Alot of these high speed guys seem to think that it doesn't qualify as a world record because you didn't follow the rules (use of rocket engine). I don't know anything about the rules, but they may have a point.

Claiming you have the new world record for fastest RC car is too general of a statement. In your case, it is a fast rocket car, but what was the previous speed record for a rocket powered RC car? Do you know that? You can only compare your vehicles speed to other rocket powered RC cars, so I'll say again, what is the former record?

The record for a rocket car was 58mph and then 117mph set by me at the same event as the 163.51. These are the only known runs by a rocket car that have been verified by 2 sets of timing equipment. There was a guy who built a 12ft rc rocket car called the Awsome Express III in 1992 and claimed a run of 200mph but the speed has never been verified. The car broke up after the 2nd run and was never rebuilt. Details here

according to ROSSA rules that guys rocket is the true record if he said it went 200mph it must be accept as fact and not disputed.

Nonsense. The ROSSA rules state that the speed must be verified by 2 sets of timing gear that have been calibrated and the speed must be less than 5% difference. The speed on the optical trap is then accepted. The Awesome Express had no speed measurement just a calculation of what it might be.

Actually its a faster speed and not a new record as I need to break the existing record by 1mph. It was only 0.9mph faster....LOL

2 different organizations. ROSSA allows rockets, ISC doesn't. In the ISC, the vehicle has to be pushed by the wheels.
