You would have to convert the 3rd and 4th channels to a 3-position switch. There's a tutorial on www.rccrawler.com somewhere, but I wasn't able to find it with a quick search.

futaba 4pk is a good one, but it is on the pricey side compared to the one you linked to.

i think the futaba 3pl has a 4th channel rear steer option, idk though

Futaba is also coming out with a 4PL which will be significantly less expensive than the 4PK

please don't choose a 2.4Ghz radio system as it gives testicles cancer. A good am or fm set is safer.

[sm=confused.gif][sm=confused.gif][sm=confused.gif] You might want to try holding your radio above the waist.

I know a few guys that use that radio and it seems to work fine. However, it doesn't have memory for multiple cars, so you have to rebind and re-adjust all your trim settings if you plan on using it on more than one vehicle. It also doesn't have an LCD screen.

I would strongly suggest you save your pennies and get either the Futaba 3PL or the 4PL when it's available or get the Spektrum DX3R. Radios are worth spending the money on because they're not really an item that wears out; you'll have it for a long time to come. Cars will come and go, but you can still use the same radio gear. Your money goes quite far with a radio system.

The extra channels are for plugging in thing like transponders for racing or for use in large scale cars that have front/rear brakes. Futaba just happens to use the same receiver for lots of different models regardless of how many channels the radio has.

I was actually confusing the 3PL with the 3PM-X which is designed specifically for crawlers:

The 3PL will work but it takes some fiddling if I remember right. The 3PM-X offers more options for 4WS as well.
