Default Would this really work?

I am interested in buying a tlt-1. I have never tried rc rock crawiling before, but it looks extremely cool. Could i make a decent rock crawler with that little of a car. I have heard alot of people say it is too close to the ground. I wouldn't want to do to much of my own improvising with the chassis. Are there parts available to do this.

Also if anyone has pics of a tlt-1 crawler that would be nice.

Thanks alot.

heres mine, but its been bettered and changed a bit since this so ill post you some new pics later, its easy to build on from a tlt-1, but a stock tlt-1 even if equiped with 2.2 wheels wont be a capable machine, all the diffs need to be locked, and yeah stock they sit low, also have less than spectacular articulation in stock form, if you use t-maxx turnbuckles to link it then it streches it out, also putting a stampede trans in it and using traxxas slider shafts for the driveshafts is a good idea, crawling is all about building and modding on your rig to get what you want from it, also mine is fast for a crawler topping out at just over walking speed, about 5-8mph id say, mine is pretty in depth build though, narrowed wheels and modded tlt chassis, stuff like that, anyway here are the pics, since these i lowered it a bit, lowered the battery a bit(its between the plates now), and now has moab 2.2s on it instead of the dirtworks.

That is pretty much exactly what i want, really good articulation. Awesome tlt-1. I just dont know that much about doing my own modding. Thanks for the info. I would still like to see other tlts.

well, this is what mines turned out after almost $500 just on upgrades. main thing is get yer self the Pede tranny. this tlt has great articulation over the stock tlt chassis... definately check out rccrawler for Q & A, especially if ur a newbie like myself. Rock crawling is very addicting. Can't stop myself. Currently looking into a clod or a tubuler design for the TLT

good luck!

Hi

That is an RBX chassis. did some add ons for better positioning of my shocks. I would recommend the BENDER chassis or checkout Tubewerks.com. The Bender chassis is designed for multiple positioning of the links and shocks. just my $0.02 since I alredy have the RBX...Again check out the Vendor secton of RCCrawler.... Benders got vids as well as RBX.
