Default Axial Question

I have an Axial ARR that I have doen the CKRC stage 2 kit on and am loving it.
I was looking at changing the truck over to a tube chassis and was wondering what the advantage/disadvantages were? [sm=confused.gif]
The chassis I am looking at is the TCS Eclipse package. Thoughts? [sm=confused.gif]
Any info will be greatly appreciated!! [sm=biggrin.gif]

The eclipse chassis is a good one. It is designed for droop suspension. If you use sprung shocks it will set high. here is a couple pics of mine
My socks are 90 mm in length and full droop. It gives me just over 2 1/4 inch clearance at the skid plate. It is lower than a sprung system and takes a different driving style. Personaly I probably won't go back to a sprung crawler.

Thank you MASTERCHIEF... it's nothing special, I just had to have something to compete with my wife's crawler.

Ok, not real up on the terms......so be kind.
What do you mean by "Droup suspension" and "un-sprung crawler"?[sm=confused.gif]
I am unfamiliar with the term as I am just starting out in crawling.

Droop is when the shocks are at full compression (shortest over all length) at rest. To do this you put internal springs inside the shock body, under the piston. this holds the shock at full compression. It functions opposite a normal shock with outside springs. to get the desired articulation the axle and wheel drop away from the chassis. This setup lowers your chassis therefore helps in lowering your center of gravity, enabling steeper climbs and side hills. The only drawback is you loose some clearance between the chassis (skid plate) and the ground (high center easier). This site will give you all the info necessary to make your crawler the best it can be. You will have to do a lot of reading.
