The 3rd annual Southern Dawn Patrol WW I Scale Fly in is coming up December 3-4, 2010. The event will again be held at Hodges Hobbies in Andersonville, GA.

This event is open to scale or semi scale R/C models of aircraft designed and in service prior to the end of 1918. It must be a model of an actual full scale aircraft. All sizes welcome. No Sticks, Elders, Antics, etc.

We again will have lots of prizes and awards to give out. Everyone who registers and flys has a chance at some great items. Plaques for "Best of ****"

We've had a great time at the prior year's events. Mark your calendar.

I have my 'ressie' at the Windsor. Barry from Ohio has already agreed to be my DD. I will drag Feroldi and Pierce along just for grins. The only thing I will not do is fly if there is a DRI in the sky:-) Say hey to Rose for me and we will see you at Mac's. BTW - Are you going to Monster planes next weekend?

SDP is just a few weeks away.

I've been slow about getting the list up of those planning to attend. It should be on the website by tomorrow.

More important, is that we would like to print name tags in advance. If you plan to attend and haven't contacted me, please send me at least your name and state so we (Rose) can make up name tags.

PS: We have a great collection of items that will be given away this year.

Rose and I had planned to head to Andersonville Wednesday evening and start setting up things for the event early Thursday. However, due to an unexpected funeral we need to attend Thursday morning, we will not arrive at the field until late Thursday afternoon.

If you get there before us and wonder what is going on, we'll be there as soon as we can and we will be ready to go Friday morning.

The Farmer's Almanac must wait until you schedule SDP before they finalize a prediction on the first major cold front of the year. Hope you all have a blast, this is too much fun to be bothered by a little drop in morning temperature. Wish I could be there..........John

Yes John, we always manage to beat the global warming trend for SDP. [:-] At least the storms will be past, the sun shining and the winds look decent.

I can always go in Mac's shop to warm up. Maybe that's why Mac likes this event so much, he gets a LOT of traffic in the store

Wish you could make it. Maybe we'll see you in April.
