The javelins have been painted but the clear will definitely wait until the pants repair.

I just got home and anxious to see what I need to do to my pants. They are in need of a total over haul, the paint has been damaged all over and the seam feels soft on the inside.

Not to much, just stripping them, body work, priming, paint, decals, and clear. All for doing a good deed.

Yeah that is ugly,
Complete redo is in order. Well you know the old saying no good deed goes unpunished. Unfortunately trying to be nice doesn't always work out the best for us.

Just my opinion here but he should have offered up some compensation. Things do happen but at least own up to it.
Later!!

Not cool at all.

Another old saying what goes around comes around. When working with any business especially a small business as this person has word of mouth is everything. Also the R/C world is a pretty small place thanks to RCU. Your thread gets enough hits to help and or hurt depending on his actions. Seen it many times on many threads.

Bummer it had to happen.
Later!!

He beat those up pretty good...They definitely have to be redone. You know being nice and helping others is good but when stuff like this happens it sucks. You can cross his name off the list...haha.

Yep I couldn't agree more. You went above the call and all you can do now is move on. Don't let it poison your good spirit, you will get it fixed and even though it sucks to do it over you are the better man.

Thanks for the support guys, I will order some more paint next week. Normally things don't bother me like this thing, but this one is. I guess it was his reasoning for the issues, generic paint and clear coat, of which is full scale paint and high quality automotive clear. All the excuses along the way and always deferring to health issues, money problems, moving, etc.etc. But I am going to let it go and move on.
Next week I will try to get everything else buttoned up and the plane in the trailer. I don't like maidening with the pants on anyway so there is time for the redo without it holding anything up.
Again, Thanks for the support.

If your looking for a bright side, at least there's not three colors with stars on em. It sucks when stuff like that happens, but I find that at least 95 % of the modeling community are honest, good people. Sux you had to hit that 5%. So close you are, don't let it slow you up now.

Even my wife was appalled Robert.
You had the right heart, and still do

I constantly show her your work and trials and tribulations with this build.

Some time back frequent flyer wanted all the glass parts as well as the canopy to make molds for himself. The canopy i sent and in return he sent me two new ones, that was great and well appreciated.
But i had serious reservations about sending the other stuff because it was all painted and done. After a some emails back and forth he stated he only needed the pants, someone else sent him the rest. And promising no harm would come to them because he was experienced at this i reluctantly sent them at a cost of thirty bucks to me. Later at one point he had told me they were slightly damaged at the seam and from that i said i had some paint and could fix them. But this is far more than minor on the seam. And one can tell by the remains that he generically tried to sand and repaint it, or at least tried to hide the damage. Here are a couple pics of how little they are damaged, hah! No one in their right mind would even contemplate not stripping them to remove any damage that can't be seen.
It's great how you do a favor for someone , send hIM free product. And he never pays for anything nor does he tell the truth, he just lies about it all. And never holds up his end of the deal! Funny how he claim i just ruin his paint job when it is the furthest thing from the truth. God help you robert.
